It’s a bird, alien object, space invasion or even a stage prop for a forthcoming Pink Floyd reunion show, or even more. Nope, it’s “1.8 Green Mountain Falls,” a massive hanging sculpture across the lake in GMF, crafted by renown artist Janet Echelman, with inspiration drawn from the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami. It is the signature art piece for the 2019 Green Box Arts Festival. The display was first lit up on July 4, an event that attracted a large gathering at the Gazebo island, which is the best place to view the exhibit shortly after dark. It will be on display at the lake through Labor Day. Photo by Rick Langenberg
