Wellness Walk. Scheduled for Aug. 26 at the Garden of the Gods Visitor Center at 9 a.m. Meet at the upper level and choose a one, two or three-mile hike. Maps are available. Healthy living tips and mindfulness exercises are available to enhance your walk. Dress for the weather, wear comfortable shoes and bring plenty of water. Free admission.
GMF Summer Music Series. The Building Ute Pass Community hosts the Green Mountain Falls Summer Music Series on Wednesday evenings at the GMF Farmstand, featuring performances by Tenderfoot Bluegrass, Look’ee Here, and Manitou Strings. The series, which kicked off on Aug. 12 with Tenderfoot Bluegrass, also has concerts planned for August 26 and Sept. 9, with music playing between 6 and 8 p.m. This is a popular event, previously sponsored by the local chamber of commerce. The concert is free, but participants should bring lawn chairs, blankets, and possibly picnic food items. (But food and drinks can be purchased at local Green Mountain Falls restaurants

Free Paint Drop-off and Giveaway. Cripple Creek is hosting a free, convenient, one-day paint drop-off and giveaway event through PaintCare on August 27 in the parking lot across from the Cripple Creek Public Works Building. Households and businesses in the area can easily drop off unused paint for recycling or pick up leftover paint in good condition at no cost. Through this one-day event, PaintCare is providing the community with a convenient way to recycle and reuse paint. The event will be held in the parking lot across from the Cripple Creek Public Works Building, located at 207 County Road 89, on August 27 from 2 to 6 p.m. Households may bring most types of paint, stain, and varnish in any amount to drop off. The Woodland Park Planning Commission will meet on Aug. 27 at 6:30 p.m. in the council chambers, next to city hall. The meeting is available in-person and on Zoom.
Friday, Aug. 28
Farmers Market. The Woodland Park Farmers Market is in full swing for the season. This popular event takes place Fridays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. from June through September in Memorial Park on Henrietta and Center Street. It is part of the Teller County Farmers Market Association organization which provides a forum for sales of local produce and items associated with agriculture, garden & food. The association, originally formed in 1990 as Woodland Park Farmers Market, is operated by volunteers and administered by a Board of Directors. Grand Opening. Don’t miss early opening specials for the Pine Gables Tavern in Green Mountain Falls, a revived version of the old Blue Moose Tavern. The Gables, which has been part of the legacy of GMF for decades, has reopened with its original name and a familiar group of operators.
Columbine Pour House Opening. The Columbine Pour House will be officially opening its doors inside the historic Green Mountain Falls Lodge on Aug. 28 from noon to 8 p.m. This is a long-awaited opening of a new restaurant and bar for Green Mountain Falls. As part of the opening, the restaurant will be featuring Jeremiah Campfire on opening day from 4 to 7 p.m. Bring your friends and family and come to celebrate with us, as we begin this new chapter. The restaurant’s new theme is: We are a small, cozy gathering place where there’s a seat for everyone at our table. Enjoy good food, craft cocktails, beer and wine, along with non-alcoholic beer and spirit-free cocktails.

Green Box Free Ballet Performance. Green Box will host a brand-new performance of The Epic of Gilgamesh, on Saturday, Aug. 29 at 3 p.m. at the Sallie Bush Community Center. The free ballet performance is part of Green Box’s artist residency program. The show is one of the world’s oldest surviving stories—a tale of love, loss, grief, and the search for meaning—and renders it for today’s audiences in a form that bridges time, culture, and genre. The performance will invite audiences into an immersive reimagining of an epic that still speaks with urgency to questions of love, mortality, grief, resilience, and human connection. Links Fever. The Shining Mountain golf course is in full swing for the 2026 season. Contrary to past years, this season marks the first time the links property is under the ownership and management of the city of Woodland Park. Check the new Shining Mountain Facebook page, via the city of Woodland Park, this summer or call 719-687-7587 or check with information at the SM pro shop. Many key tournaments and charity events and special fund-raisers are scheduled throughout the summer and early fall, including a fund-raiser for the new Octoberfest event. Don’t miss the Superintendent’s Revenge on Aug. 30. This is a two-person scramble focused on fun and a rather unique course setup. Also, every Tuesday is Trivia Night. Art Tour. Green Box will host a weekly guided art walk in Green Mountain Falls every Saturday this month, starting at 11 a.m. at the community Farm Stand The tours are led by Dr. José Antonio Arellano, who was involved with the 2006 Green Box Arts festival.
