A Tribute to “Grandma Dee”
October 16, 1963 – September 24, 2026
Diana Marie Rohrer, lovingly known to her family and grandchildren as “Grandma Dee,” passed away at her home in Florissant, Colorado, on September 24, 2026, at the age of 62.
Diana was born on October 16, 1963, in Germany to Russell and Renate Rohrer. She was the second oldest of five children and grew up surrounded by family, making memories, sharing stories, and building relationships that remained important throughout her life.
Diana eventually made her home in the beautiful Colorado mountains, where she found a life filled with the people and simple pleasures she loved most. It was in Cripple Creek, Colorado, that she met Terry Watson, her longtime partner and the love of her life. Together, Diana and Terry shared 22 years of memories, adventures, laughter, and life.
Family was at the heart of who Diana was. She treasured her children and grandchildren and loved nothing more than spending time with them. To her grandchildren, she was simply Grandma Dee—a name filled with love, warmth, laughter, and memories that they will carry with them forever.
Diana loved cooking, camping, fishing, and going to the beach. She also had a deep love for animals, especially dogs and deer. She found joy in caring for animals, watching them, and appreciating the special connection they brought into her life. Her love for animals was a reflection of her gentle, compassionate nature.
Diana had a special appreciation for the simple things in life and found beauty in the little moments that others might overlook. She also had a knack for turning even the most unexpected moments into stories her family would tell for years.
And there were certainly plenty of stories.
One family trip to Florida became especially memorable when Diana was swept off the beach by the waves and had to be rescued—an adventure that became one of those family stories that would be told and retold.
Then there was the fishing trip when Diana managed to hook her grandson in the ear—not once, but twice on the very same trip. It was perhaps not her finest fishing accomplishment, but it certainly became one of the most memorable.
Those stories capture something special about Diana. She wasn’t afraid to make a memory, and she certainly wasn’t afraid to give her family something to laugh about. Her grandchildren will remember not only the time they spent with her, but the stories, laughter, adventures, and little moments that made being with Grandma Dee so special.
Diana will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, partner, and friend. She found joy in being surrounded by the people she loved and understood that some of life’s greatest treasures were found in the simplest moments—sharing a meal, casting a fishing line, sitting on the beach, camping with family, watching deer in the mountains, spending time with dogs, or laughing together over a story that would be remembered for years.
Diana is survived by her partner of 22 years, Terry Watson; her children, Brandon O’Keefe and Alvina O’Keefe, Amber O’Keefe and Noah Poirier, and Ashley O’Keefe; and her grandchildren, Ayden O’Keefe, Porter Mokol, Sophie Mokol, Chancellor Poirier, Kyler O’Keefe, and Evelyn O’Keefe.
She is also survived by her siblings, Kurt Krech, Debbie Jackson and Troy Jackson, and Richard Rohrer and Wendy Rohrer.
Diana was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Renate Rohrer, and her brother, Mark Rohrer.
Though Diana’s life has come to an end, the love she gave and the memories she created will remain. Her family and friends will carry her with them—in the laughter of her grandchildren, in stories shared around the dinner table, on fishing trips, at the beach, around a campfire, while watching deer in the mountains, in the companionship of beloved dogs, and in all of the little moments that remind them of her.
*The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all of Diana’s family and friends for their love, support, and kindness during this difficult time. They also offer their sincere gratitude to Mountain Memorial Funeral Home for their care and assistance in honoring Diana’s life and memory.
Diana will forever be loved, forever be missed, and forever be Grandma Dee.
