Tuesday, Aug. 18

Business After Hours. Join us for the next Business After Hours — the premier networking event in Teller County on Aug. 18 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.  The August After Hours is being hosted by Coldwell Banker 1st Choice Realty, located at 18401 E. Highway 24 Woodland Park, CO 80863. Whether you’re a longtime member or new to the Chamber, this is your chance to reconnect with friends, clients, and fellow business owners — and meet new contacts in a relaxed, informal setting. Wednesday, Aug. 19

Wellness Walk. Scheduled for Aug. 19 at the Garden of the Gods Visitor Center at 9 a.m. Meet at the upper level and choose a one, two or three-mile hike. Maps are available. Healthy living tips and mindfulness exercises are available to enhance your walk. Dress for the weather, wear comfortable shoes and bring plenty of water. Free admission.

The Cripple Creek City Council meets on Aug. 19 at the CC Council Chambers, starting at 5:30 p.m. The meeting is available in-person and on Zoom.

Thursday, Aug. 20

TOPS. Takes Off Pound Sensibly. Meets every Thursday morning at 10 a.m. in the Church in the Wildwood (10585 Ute Pass Ave.) Green Mountain Falls, Co 80819. Affordable, effective weight loss.

The Woodland Park City Council will meet on Aug. 20 at 6:30 p.m. in the council chambers, next to city hall. The meeting is available in-person and on Zoom.

Friday, Aug. 21

Farmers Market. The Woodland Park Farmers Market is in full swing for the season.  This popular event takes place Fridays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. from June through September in Memorial Park on Henrietta and Center Street. It is part of the Teller County Farmers Market Association organization which provides a forum for sales of local produce and items associated with agriculture, garden & food. The association, originally formed in 1990 as Woodland Park Farmers Market, is operated by volunteers and administered by a Board of Directors.  It oversees two markets: Woodland Park Farmers’ Market (Summer) and Woodland Park Farmers Market Holiday Market. Grand Opening.  Don’t miss early opening specials for the Pine Gables Tavern in Green Mountain Falls, a revived version of the old Blue Moose Tavern.  The Gables, which has been part of the legacy of GMF for decades, has reopened with its original name and a familiar group of operators.

The 34th Annual Salute to American Veterans Rally. Scheduled for August 21-23. This free, family-friendly event honors the service and sacrifice of America’s veterans and active-duty military with a weekend of patriotic activities, including the Veterans Parade, POW/MIA Remembrance Ceremony, POW/MIA Recognition Ride, which extends from Woodland Park to Cripple Creek, live music, military displays, vendors, and more throughout historic downtown. Join us as we celebrate those who have served our nation and experience one of Colorado’s most meaningful annual traditions in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. Join us for a weekend of patriotism, remembrance, and community as we honor those who have served our nation. Saturday, August 22

Links Fever. The Shining Mountain golf course is in full swing for the 2026 season.  Contrary to past years, this season marks the first time the links property is under the ownership and management of the city of Woodland Park.  Check the new Shining Mountain Facebook page, via the city of Woodland Park, this summer or call 719-687-7587 or check with information at the SM pro shop. Many key tournaments and charity events and special fund-raisers are scheduled throughout the summer and early fall, including a fund-raiser for the new Octoberfest event. Don’t miss the Superintendent’s Revenge  on Aug. 30. This is a two-person scramble focused on fun and a rather unique course setup.   Also, every Tuesday is Trivia Night.  According to recent reports, the course is experiencing much improved conditions compared to previous years.   Also, check TMJ’s weekly Mountain Almanac section for updates.  

Art Tour.  Green Box will host a weekly guided art walk in Green Mountain Falls every Saturday this month, starting at 11 a.m. at the community Farm Stand The tours are led by Dr. José Antonio Arellano, who was involved with the 2006 Green Box Arts festival.

Upcoming Events

GMF Summer Music Series. The Building Ute Pass Community hosts the Green Mountain Falls Summer Music Series on Wednesday evenings at the GMF Farmstand, featuring performances by Tenderfoot Bluegrass, Look’ee Here, and Manitou Strings. The series, which kicked off on Aug. 12 with Tenderfoot Bluegrass, also has concerts planned for August 26 and Sept. 9, with music playing between 6 and 8 p.m. This is a popular event, which was previously sponsored by the local chamber of commerce. The concert is free, but participants are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and possibly picnic food items. (But food and drinks can be purchased at local Green Mountain Falls restaurants)

Styx Tribute Show. Chamonix Casino & Hotel Welcomes You to Experience Styx Tribute Live at the Chamonix on August 22.
