NFL Matchup Viewing Tips for Week 16

Brought to you by McGinty’s Wood Oven Pub

It’s onto Week 16 in the world of professional football Madness and when the real season hits a mini-climax: The near-final duel for the NFL Playoffs.

The Denver Broncos are definitely in the race, for a change, and Bronco Playoff Fever is alive and well. The Broncs are still hedging their hopes on ending a playoff drought that seems to have existed since the Ice Age (actually it is from 2015).

Regardless, they have fooled dooms-day skeptics who predicted that the Broncs would be lucky to win five games.

Now, the real test arrives in what TMJ News is describing as “Bloody Thursday,” for the probable death match, or maybe it will be “Gladiator Three,” in the upcoming showdown between the Broncos and the Chargers. Yes, we have already sent a request to the rock band U-2 to change the lyrics of their acclaimed “Bloody Sunday” rock song, dealing with the previous strife in Ireland.  Bono of U-2 needs to realize that (previous scuffles between the IRA and Brits) could be child’s play compared to what may transpire in a couple of days on the NFL playing field in lovely LA.  “Bloody Thursday,” here we come.

Hold onto your bar stool, mug, favorite brew, beverage or food plate, Irish fight song or whatever, and root on the Broncos, who yes, face an uphill challenge.

Game time is 6:15 sharp on the Big Game on Dec. 19 Now, the Bad News:.  The Broncos typically don’t play well on Thursday Night games, and the Chargers have one heck of a defense and they have home-field advantage.

But if the Broncs can perform in a similar way they did during their winning romp, it is a definite possibility.  Both the Broncos and the Chargers encountered similar awkward fates against the  KC Chiefs: They should have won their more recent games against the “Lucky Swifties,” who just devise amazing ways to win every week.

However, if Thursday night football is not your favorite activity, or you prefer to see the Woodland Park City Council in action, plenty of great NFL options abound this weekend. You got the Texans and Chiefs on Saturday; or the Steelers and the Ravens the same day; with Sunday showcasing such goodies as the Commanders and  Eagles or the Buccaneers and Cowboys.

If you are looking for a great place to take in prime NFL action this week, including the Broncos-Chargers open war, don’t forget McGinty’s Wood Oven Pub in Divide, the sponsor of our fine NFL Page and Broncos’ preview. McGinty’s, with their sports bar setup and winner of many Best Of awards in the High Country, offers a prime opportunity to view nearly all of the NFL games and partake in some great game food and drink special.

Overall, it is a great game atmosphere. Additionally, McGinty’s sports a friendly staff and has food entrees just made for NFL football. It also is a prime spot for Thursday night games, which aren’t easily available to most fans, and of course, college ball. In fact, this is a prime spot for the College Bowl games.

Enjoy Week 16.
