Sewer Time in Green Mountain Falls

In a major infrastructure boost for the town of Green Mountain Falls, USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) Rural Development State Director Sallie Clark announced the awarding of an $85,000 grant for GMF in its pursuit of a centralized wastewater treatment system. The announcement occurred during a special ceremony held April 14 at the town’s Gazebo lake area, featuring representatives from a score of state and local agencies and government offices.
Mayor Todd Dixon described the grant as a good first step, in what he projected realistically as a probable 10-year project. The grant will assist with initial engineering and planning in addressing one of GMF’s biggest obstacles: the lack of a central sewer system.
Clark is no newcomer to GMF infrastructure challenges, serving previously as an El Paso County commissioner and representing GMF on many fronts. Appointed by President Donald Trump as USDA’s state director for rural development, Clark expressed optimism about the town’s chances of securing even more substantial USDA grants in combating its current infrastructure woes.
