On May 24, 2024, at about 6:24 pm, the Teller County Sheriff’s Office responded to a Burglary in Progress off County Road 21 where a man, later identified as Edgar Saenz Lopez (DOB: 04-15-84), was attempting to break into an occupied home.
Deputies arrived within minutes of the call, contacted the Reporting Party, and began searching for the suspect. Deputies located the suspect in the area behind Safeway and a foot pursuit ensued. Deputies lost the suspect around Little Gem’s Trailer Park and both Woodland Park and Teller County Deputies searched for the suspect throughout the night with no contact.
A Peak Alert was issued to residents in the area advising of the law enforcement activity in their area.
Mr. Saenz Lopez is currently on Parole and is wanted out of Teller County for Burglary, Resisting Arrest, and Obstruction.
If the public should see Mr. Saenz Lopez, they should not attempt to contact him and should call 911.
