Do you want to know more about homeschooling, but don’t know where to start? Visit the Homeschool Expo, Saturday, March 9, to learn about opportunities available for families in Teller County.
“Homeschooling can seem daunting for parents, even if they’ve been doing it for a while,” said event organizer Rachael Pico of Life Abundant Ministries. “We hope this expo will allow families to explore everything that makes homeschooling an adventure and gain more confidence.”
Presented by Life Abundant Ministries, the free Homeschool Expo will feature organizations offering enrichment programs, outdoor activities, sports, music, art, STEAM education, and more.
Organizations at the expo include Christian Home Educators of Colorado, Elevation Homeschool Enrichment, American Heritage Girls, Classical Conversations, Woodland Park Parks and Recreation, Cripple Creek Parks and Recreation, TyTans Archery Club, Teller Rifles, Teller County 4-H, Colorado Springs Christian School, Merit Academy, and Catamount Institute.
Breakout sessions will focus on key topics important to new and experienced homeschool educators, including state regulations, teaching unique learners, launching young learners, and teaching high schoolers.
Featured presenters include Kashia Davis of Christian Home Educators of Colorado, Yvonne Strachan of Christian Homeschool Connect, Rachael Pico of Life Abundant Ministries, and Cindy Puhek of Homeschool Science Colorado.
The Homeschool Expo is scheduled for Saturday, March 9, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Ute Pass Cultural Center, 210 E Midland Ave, Woodland Park, CO 80863. For more information, or to register for this free event, visit www.life-abundant.org/events.
