Keep Woodland Park Beautiful Seeks Volunteers for 20th Annual Citywide Cleanup

Keep Woodland Park Beautiful will host 20th annual Citywide Cleanup on August 27, 2022, celebrating two decades of community efforts to keep the city of Woodland Park, CO clean and litter free.

The annual event has been a longstanding effort for the committee as a part of its mission to reduce litter and promote responsible handling of waste in and around the city. The cleanup has welcomed the assistance of hundreds of volunteers over the years picking up accumulated trash near parks, schools, neighborhoods and alongside roadways and local businesses.

The Citywide Cleanup has been an important volunteer service opportunity for local groups,
non-profit organizations and the Woodland Park School District, giving people of all ages the opportunity to give back to the community. This year the event will also include the opportunity for volunteers to assist in washing windows to help local businesses downtown.

“This is such a great event and it’s wonderful to see the community come together to help pitch in to keep our city clean”, said Keep Woodland Park Beautiful Vice Chair Kassidi Gilgenast. “Last year we welcomed over 90 volunteers and we are excited to get more people involved this summer and make a big impact”.

This will be the first year that the event will be hosted at Memorial Park, with registration starting at 8:30am. Volunteers will sign-in, be assigned a spot to cleanup, and set off to work in their assigned areas. When clean up is complete, volunteers are invited back to the pavilion for a free barbecue lunch. This year’s event will also feature games and special activities for kids.

The 20th Annual Citywide Cleanup takes place on August 27, 2022 at Memorial Park.
Volunteer registration is available now online here on the City of Woodland Park website:
