Janice L. Cummings

Florissant, Teller County, Colorado – Janice Cummings unexpectedly passed away on Tuesday April 6, 2021, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Jan was born in Farmington Township, Michigan on August 27, 1937. She was the middle child of Kenneth and Parnel Kauffman. Jan graduated from Davison High School in Davison Michigan. Jan married Air Force Colonel Robert Cummings and upon retirement the two of them moved to the mountains of Teller County where they lived and loved life to the fullest. As a past president of the Colorado Federation of Republican Women, Jan was very involved in Colorado and National politics.
Jan is survived by her brother Harold Kauffman of Tacoma, Washington. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Parnel Kauffman, brother Danny and her husband, retired Colonel Robert Cummings.
At Jan’s request there will be no memorial service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Nature Conservancy in Arlington, Virginia, Paralyzed Veterans of America in Wilton, New Hampshire or the World Wildlife Fund in Washington, D.C.
Jan will be laid to rest with her husband at the Black Hills National Cemetery, Sturgis, South Dakota.
