Teller County man arrested for attempted murder

Teller County, CO, June 19, 2018– Yesterday afternoon around 3 pm, the Teller County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) responded to a shooting at 2169 Arapahoe Drive in the Navajo Mountain Mesa subdivision in southwestern Teller County. 

Arriving deputies discovered a 49-year old female had been shot in the chest.  The victim’s husband and child were present at the scene.  Flight for Life transported the victim to Penrose Main hospital in stable condition with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.  TCSO detectives conducted an investigation and were able to learn the victim’s husband, Shannon Cromer DOB 09/22/1979, had shot her during an argument inside the home.  There was an 11-year old child present on the property at the time of the shooting but is not thought to be an eyewitness. 

This morning, agents with the Colorado Bureau of Investigation are assisting TCSO detectives in the execution of a search warrant in furtherance of processing the crime scene at the house.  Shannon Cromer is being held in the Teller County Jail on an Attempted First Degree Murder charge and will possibly face additional charges as more details are learned in the investigation. 

Charges: Attempted First Degree Murder (F2), and felony Domestic Violence charges.
