Over the summer, the Hangout at Deckers proved to be a hot spot for those traveling through and recreating in the area.
The dining room was often filled, as customers flooded the scratch kitchen eatery that is now just over a year old.
Now that the summer is over, the restaurant is still committed to serving customers freshly- made food. The menu has changed recently, and the eatery now offers more Southern-themed dishes including Mississippi pot roast and a creamy Cajun pasta.
The drink menu has also recently changed as now the full bar offers many uniquely crafted cocktails including a Lemon Lavender Margarita and a Tequila Old Fashioned. Over the summer, the sharable Bloody Mary bucket made waves over social media channels.
The “Bloody Bucket” consists of nearly a gallon of the owner’s special recipe cocktail, crab legs, shrimp, cheeseburger sliders, chicken strips, vegetables and more. The bucket can satisfy around four to six people, but it must be preordered at least 24 hours in advance.
But now that school is back in session, The Hangout has decided to spend their slower days doing upgrades to the eatery. According to Carolyn Anderson, The Hangout’s owner, the business now has a goal of opening a new speakeasy style bar in the back room where people can enjoy a craft-made cocktail. Anderson said that she hopes the new bar will be open in the next couple of months.
New Foods and More Bakery Items
And even though the traffic flowing through Deckers has been reduced for the fall season, the team at The Hangout is now focused on creating new foods and bulking up the growing bakery side of their business. Along with their scratch-made meals, the eatery also operates as a full-service scratch bakery. T
The bakers in the kitchen work hard towards putting out fresh cinnamon rolls, bear paws and homemade apple pop tarts on their display racks.
However, The Hangout at Deckers isn’t the only new business development taking place in Deckers. The popular road stop has recently rebranded from the old “Deckers’ Corner” to the new “Deckers’ Outpost.”

The majority of businesses inside the Deckers shopping center have new owners and they are committed to working together to provide more options to customers while being open for longer hours.
The Deckers Outpost now consists of The Hangout, Flies and Lies Fly Fishing Shop, the Deckers General Store, Double D Liquors and His and Her Hardware and Gifts Store.
