NFL Watching Tips for Week 5

Brought to you by McGinty’s Wood Oven Pub

It is Do or Die for the Denver Broncos, as they travel to friendly Lincoln Financial Field in a tough on-the-road Oct, 6 game against the defending Super Bowl champs, the Philadelphia Eagles, this Sunday. Game time is 11 a.m. just in time for your favorite beverage or lunch time snack of choice.

Special Warning: You probably will need as much physical and emotional nourishment as can be provided prior to this matchup, so drink and eat heartily, and maybe even start praying.

NFL insiders are rating the Broncs’ chance of overcoming Philly about as likely as Teller County becoming a solid blue county.  Even our local Philly Joe, who usually provides a hefty amount of lighthearted colorful humor for NFL games, admits the consequences could get ugly for the Broncs. This one is pretty black and white, as far as preliminary predictions. The Broncos could pull a disguise act and dress up in Santa Claus outfits, but then the delightful Philly fans will pelt them with snowballs. Yes, the City of Brotherly Love isn’t known for their friendly treatment of visiting teams, or for anybody for that matter.

Unfortunately, the 2025 season hasn’t quite gone the way Broncos Coach Sean Payton predicted, to say the least.

As a result, the Broncos are prevailing these days as the team incurring the most heartbreaking losses.

Despite the wrath of Philly fans, the Broncos have the potential to win this one; and remember, it is only Week 5. Let’s prove Trevor Phipps and the entire crew of NFL football analysists wrong.

Bo Nix just needs a good fourth quarter and the defense needs to hold firm when it counts. No more Choking in the final minutes.  In reality, the Broncos are much better than their current record shows, and the Eagles are not quite the same powerhouse unit as last year.

These two teams have squared off 14 times, with Yes, the Eagles winning the vast majority of these clashes. On the upside, if the Broncos can somehow fly above the Eagles on Sunday, their season gets a little bit easier, at least for several games.

If you are looking for a great place to take in the Broncos game and other NFL slug matches, head to McGinty’s Wood Oven Pub in Divide, the sponsor of our fine NFL Page and Broncos’ preview section. McGinty’s, with their sports bar setup, offers a prime opportunity to view nearly all of the NFL games and partake in some great game food and drink specials.  McGinty’s also sports a loyal group of Bronco fans and some enthusiastic cynics too

Another great NFL watching spot is Jess’ Place in Woodland Park, with a rather vocal crowd of football fans. Regardless, our fine abode abounds with great spots for Bronco viewing and places to cheer away for great NFL action. Besides the Broncos/Philly matchup, we highly suggest the Commanders/Chargers duel later in the afternoon.

Enjoy Week  5.
