Suspect Arrested in Casino Theft; Investigation Ongoing

A suspect has been arrested and booked into the Teller County Jail in connection with the theft of $76,800 from J.P. McGill’s Casino in Cripple Creek during the early morning hours of August 18, 2025.

The Cripple Creek Police Department is leading the investigation, with assistance provided by the Colorado Division of Gaming and the Colorado Springs Police Department. The collaborative efforts of these agencies led to the arrest of the suspect later that same day without incident.

The individual, Andrew Joel Irvine, 26 of Colorado Springs, is currently being held at the Teller County Jail and the investigation remains active and ongoing.

“This case demonstrates the strength of interagency cooperation,” said Cripple Creek Police Chief Charles Bright. “We appreciate the support and professionalism of our partners at the Colorado Division of Gaming and the Colorado Springs Police Department as we continue working to resolve this case.”

Formal charges are pending and will be filed by the 4th Judicial District Attorney’s Office. Please remember that all suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
