There are NFL football games, and then there is THE GAME.
The latter showdown strikes on Sunday afternoon (Nov. 1) as the Denver Broncos take on the Kansas City Chiefs, amounting to Part Two of their annual wartime rivalry.
The Chiefs won Round One, but Sunday’s game is on Colorado land at Empower Field. The battle cry begins at 2:25 p.m. Absolute Perfect time to head to your favorite sports bar or preferred hangout for needed supplies and nourishment.
On a statistical basis, the Broncos/Chief rivalry is dubbed as “one of the oldest and most intense blood feuds in the NFL, dating back to the inaugural 1960 season of the American Football League.”
The Chiefs hold the overall winning advantage and lead this battle by a 74-59 edge. The Chiefs literally scalped the Broncs on Monday Night Football on opening night for the current NFL season at Arrowhead, but the Broncos played one of their worst games in recent memory. For the last two years, the Broncos have actually slowed down the Chiefs brutal dominance in the series.
For the 2026/2027 season, the Chiefs are looking like one of the premiere teams.
But that said, the Broncs are a tough team to beat on their home turf. The big question centers around Denver’s offense, and if they can get things finally kick-started. And will Bo Nix return to his championship-level form of 2025?
If Bronco football is not your thing, fret not, as plenty of other great games are in store during Week 8, as a possible playoff scenario starts to emerge. Some of the earlier games on Sunday pit the Steelers against the Browns (no love there) or the Bills versus the Ravens.
