New Show Coming to Millibo Art Theatre, Colorado Springs
A popular comedian and screenwriter brings her solo show about leaving marriage—and nearly joining a cult—to audiences across the country with performances at the Millibo Art Theatre in Colorado Springs on November 13, 14, at 7:30pm.
What happens when you leave a 12-year marriage, hit rock bottom, move into a pole dancing studio, and then join an off-grid experimental community in the California desert?
For comedian and screenwriter Amy Brown Carver, the answer is EAT PRAY CULT—a 60-minute solo stand-up comedy show about getting divorced and joining a cult.
Well… almost a cult. “It’s about how to decide when it’s time to leave,” Carver says, “and what to do in a (relationship) apocalypse.” The show premiered internationally at the 2026 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, where Carver performed 22 shows in 25 days. The Edinburgh run followed performances at the Hollywood Fringe, the Bombay Beach Biennale, and Wolverine Farm Publick House in Fort Collins, Colorado.
EAT PRAY CULT was directed by comedian and writer Alice Fraser (The Bugle, BBC Radio 4, Amazon Prime), an Edinburgh Fringe veteran.
The show has received strong audience and critical responses, including a four-star review from Entertainment Now, which called it a “beautifully unique show.”
“Amy Brown Carver’s delivery is dry, witty, and accomplished, and her story about life in a cult-like community is funny, involving, and very well-observed.”
“Amy is a fantastic storyteller. I can’t stop laughing.” — Audience review, EdFringe.com
As a comedian and sketch writer, Carver has trained with Second City and iO Chicago and has developed two sci-fi comedy podcasts. The Millibo Art Theatre is located at 1626 S. Tejon St. Colorado Springs near the Motor City exit. Tickets are $18 and are available online at www.themat.org or by calling the Box Office at 719-465 6321.
EAT PRAY CULT continues its tour in fall and winter 2026, with upcoming engagements including:
- November 13–14 — Millibo Art Theatre, Colorado Springs
- December 5 — Cake’s Cafe, Santa Fe
- December 13 — Activist Kitchen, Los Angeles
