Wellness Walk. Scheduled for Sept. 9 at the Garden of the Gods Visitor Center at 9 a.m. Meet at the upper level and choose a one, two or three-mile hike. Maps are available. Healthy living tips and mindfulness exercises are available to enhance your walk. Dress for the weather, wear comfortable shoes and bring plenty of water. Free admission.

Friday, Sept. 11
The 25th Remembrance of the 9/11 Tragedy. A special ceremony will be held at Lions Park in Woodland Park in remembrance of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks that cost nearly 3,000 lives and billions in economic devastation. This will mark the 25th anniversary of this event, often considered the beginning of the country’s war against terrorism. The ceremony, which has been held on an annual basis, will feature speeches and remarks by elected leaders, law enforcement officials and first responders. The event will take place Sept. 11 at 9 a.m.
Farmers Market. The Woodland Park Farmers Market is in full swing for the season. This popular event takes place Fridays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. from June through September in Memorial Park on Henrietta and Center Street. It is part of the Teller County Farmers Market Association organization which provides a forum for sales of local produce and items associated with agriculture, garden & food. The association, originally formed in 1990 as Woodland Park Farmers Market, is operated by volunteers and administered by a Board of Directors. It oversees two markets: Woodland Park Farmers’ Market (Summer) and Woodland Park Farmers Market Holiday Market. For more information, visit the Woodland Park Farmers Market website.
Links Fever. The Shining Mountain golf course is in full swing for the 2026 season. Contrary to past years, this season marks the first time the links property is under the ownership and management of the city of Woodland Park. Check the new Shining Mountain Facebook page, via the city of Woodland Park, this summer or call 719-687-7587 or check with information at the SM pro shop. Many key tournaments and charity events and special fund-raisers are scheduled throughout the summer and early fall, including a fund-raiser for the new Oktoberfest festival on Sept. 18. Also, every Tuesday is Trivia Night. According to recent reports, the course is experiencing much improved conditions compared to previous years. Art Tour. Green Box will host a weekly guided art walk in Green Mountain Falls every Saturday starting at 11 a.m. at the community Farm Stand The tours are led by Dr. José Antonio Arellano, who was involved with the 2006 Green Box Arts festival.

Munchkin Market is a consignment sale of gently used children’s items with the following types of items: Clothing (sizes 0-junior 16), shoes (infant to juniors), all types of baby gear, strollers, highchairs, toys, media, health and safety, accessories, maternity, and more! John Denver Tribute. The Dickson Auditorium in Woodland Park will host the Ted Vigil Tribute to John Denver on Sept. 13. National Tribute Artist Ted Vigil, also featuring Theresa Britt and Cari Dell, will do a special concert, brought to you by the nonprofit NoCoCo/FlAME. The doors open at 1 p.m. with the concert starting at 2 p.m. The suggested donation for the concert is $15. For more information, visit tedvigil.eventbrite.com. History Talk: John Harper WFM Deported Union Miner. Come listen to local historian and Pikes Peak State College professor, Katherine Scott Sturdevant present “John Harper WFM Deported Union Miner” during a special presentation at the Cripple Creek Heritage Center on Sept. 13 at 1:30 p.m. Admission is FREE and donations will benefit the Victor Heritage Society. Oktoberfest Above the Clouds. Enjoy music, food, local vendors, and cold beer during our inaugural celebration of a new Woodland Park Tradition that revives one of the more popular former Woodland Park festivals. The event is scheduled from Sept. 17 to Sept. 20, with the main activity scheduled for Sept. 19 in Memorial Park. Bring your lederhosen and dirndls for a day of family, friendly fun with a real Bavarian atmosphere. Socialize with friends, show off your prowess with a stein hosting competition, scarf down schnitzel, learn traditional German dance, or just soak up some suds. There is fun to be had with everyone. Oktoberfest Above the Clouds is family friendly, featuring bounce houses, the mobile zoo from Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, kid’s golf games from Monumental Golf, and more! This event is for all ages and benefits local nonprofits that benefit youth athletic programs. The event also features the Birdies and Bratwurst Scramble Golf Tournament, an Oktoberfest-themed golf event scheduled for Friday, September 18 at 9 a.m. at the Shining Mountain Golf Course in Woodland Park. Mount Pisgah Speaks. Once again, the ghosts of the World’s Greatest Gold Camp will speak. Please join The Gold Camp Victorian Society (GCVS) of Cripple Creek on Saturday, September 19th and Sunday, September 20th for the 26th annual presentation of Mount Pisgah Speaks, an historic tour of Mt. Pisgah Cemetery, Cripple Creek’s historic resting place for its endless host of characters from days gone by. The Gold Camp Victorian Society members will again be portraying many of the most colorful characters of the World’s Greatest Gold Camp of the 1890s. Tours leave the Cripple Creek District Museum parking lot (510 Bennett Avenue) in Cripple Creek every 30 minutes beginning at 9:00 am and run until 1:30 pm. Each tour is approximately 3 hrs. Annual Autumn & Art Show and Sale. Join the Cripple Creek Art Alliance in celebrating their 10th annual Autumn & Art Show and Sale, which will be held at the Cripple Creek Heritage Center (9283 S. Hwy. 67, Cripple Creek). These local artists bring pen and ink, acrylics, watercolors, photography, pottery and jewelry to the Cripple Creek Heritage Center. All the artwork is for sale. The show runs daily starting on Friday, September 25th and extending through October 4 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. There will be a special celebration and artist reception on Saturday, September 26, starting at noon.
