Wednesday, July 15

Wellness Walk. Scheduled for July 8 at the Garden of the Gods Visitor Center at 9 a.m. Meet at the upper level and choose a one, two or three-mile hike. Maps are available. Healthy living tips and mindfulness exercises are available to enhance your walk. Dress for the weather, wear comfortable shoes and bring plenty of water. Free admission.  

The Cripple Creek City Council will meet on July 15 at 5:30 p.m. in the CC Council Chambers. The meeting is available in-person or on Zoom.  

Thursday, 16

TOPS. Takes Off Pound Sensibly. Meets every Thursday morning at 10 a.m. in the Church in the Wildwood (10585 Ute Pass Ave.) Green Mountain Falls, Co 80819. Affordable, effective weight loss.

The Woodland Park City Council will meet on July 16 at 6:30 p.m. in the WP Council Chambers next to city hall. The meeting is available in-person or on Zoom.

Friday, July 17

Farmers Market. The Woodland Park Farmers Market has kicked off for the season.  This popular event takes place Fridays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. from June through September in Memorial Park on Henrietta and Center Street. It is part of the Teller County Farmers Market Association organization which provides a forum for sales of local produce and items associated with agriculture, garden & food. The association, originally formed in 1990 as Woodland Park Farmers Market, is operated by volunteers and administered by a Board of Directors.  It oversees two markets: Woodland Park Farmers’ Market (Summer) and Woodland Park Farmers Market Holiday Market. The Woodland Park Farmers Market is a family-friendly event, open to everybody. The market remains neutral in all matters. political, social and religious. Chamonix Casino & Resort Concerts. Upcoming music concerts at Chamonix Casino & Resort in Cripple Creek continue through the summer of 2026. Gold Rush Days. Join us in celebrating our mining heritage at Victor Gold Rush Days July 17-19 in historic Victor, Colorado – the City of Gold Mines. Throughout the entire three days, activities will include gold panning, a parade, kids fun, and a variety of food and merchandise vendors.  While in town, check out our merchants, museums and eateries located in the designated National Historic District.   Take a little trip and step back in time!  If you decide to stay over there are several lodging accommodations available. Grand Opening.  Don’t miss early opening specials for the Pine Gables Tavern in Green Mountain Falls, a revived version of the old Blue Moose Tavern.  The Gables, which has been part of the legacy of GMF for decades, has reopened with its original name and a familiar group of operators.

Saturday, July 18

Links Fever. The Shining Mountain golf course is now officially open for the 2026 season.  Contrary to past years, this season will mark the first time the links property is under the ownership and management of the city of Woodland Park.  Check the new Shining Mountain Facebook page, via the city of Woodland Park, this summer or call 719-687-7587 or check with information at the SM pro shop. Many key tournaments and events are scheduled in the early summer. According to recent reports, the course is experiencing much improved conditions compared to previous years.   Also, check TMJ’s weekly Mountain Almanac section for updates.  

Final Weekend for Green Box Arts Festival.  The Green Box Arts Festival, which kicked off on July 4 in Green Mountain Falls, continues through July 19. It abounds with more than 100 events and activities associated with the 18th season of the Green Box Arts Festival, co-founded by Chris Keesee and Larry Keigwin.  Most of these include various performances, art displays, classes, hiking and art trips and community forums. The final grand Block Party is scheduled for July 19, featuring a performance by Amis Du Teche at the Farm Stand, starting at 6 p.m. For more information, visit greenboxarts.org.

Upcoming

Teller County Fair.  Come experience a slew of entertainment, activities and attractions at the Teller County Fair at the Fairgrounds facility off Teller One, just outside Cripple Creek from July 24 to August 2. Some key highlights include bull riding, barrel racing and various equestrian competitions, a tough truck demo derby, an equipment rodeo, dog and rabbit/poultry shows, a livestock auction and more.  For more information, visit the city of Cripple Creek’s tourism website.  

 Bronc Day. The 88th annual Bronc Day Festival takes place on Saturday, July 25, 2026. It runs from 9 am to 3 pm in Green Mountain Falls. Admission and all children’s activities are free. The events include a popular western-style parade down the main street overlooking the Gazebo Lake Park, an old-fashioned kids’ carnival, a pie contest, food trucks, craft vendors and live music. Free Community Concerts at Ute Pass Cultural Center.  FREE thanks to our sponsor, Pikes Peak Credit Union. The Bar and Food Truck open at 5:30 pm and outdoor show starts at 6 pm on the second Wednesday of every month.  The next monthly concert is scheduled for Aug. 12.  The concert is outdoors, so bring a lawn chair and a blanket.
