NFL Watching Tips for Week 14

Brought to you by McGinty’s Wood Oven Pub

It’s onto Week 14 in the world of professional football Madness and when the real season starts: The duel for the NFL Playoffs. Nothing like this battle in sports.

The Denver Broncos are definitely in the race, for a change, but this week they get a well-deserved vacation.  It is a By-week for the Broncs.  Bo (Nix) and Company need the rest as their play in the final games will determine if Denver sees post-season action for the first time since 2015, almost seems like it was back in the Ice Age.

But fret not Bronco fans, as there are some real goodies this weekend, and one game that could play a big role in determining the playoff fate of the Broncs. On Sunday night, the Chiefs square off against the Chargers.  And yes, this is a conspiracy act that is going to be tough to fathom for any Bronco fan.  But we actually need to root for KC and yes, side with the “Swifties” and Kelcey-idiots.  The thought of that is sickening, but this is playoff fever, baby.  Suck it up.

Just play one of Taylor’s songs before the game, or don a red jersey, so you get yourself in the KC romantic mood.

The game is at Arrowhead at 6:15 p.m. sharp, and a KC victory could help propel the Broncs’ playoff prospects. Go Chiefs!

Earlier in the day, it’s the Pittsburgh Steelers versus the Cleveland Browns in Terrible Towel land. Russ (Wilson, Steelers’ quarterback) has revenge on his mind in the wake of their earlier loss. But this a great regional rivalry, with two teams that have hated each other since professional pigskin began in the 20th century. Due to the close proximity between these cities, there are many fans from both sides in the stands. If there are less than 50 fights in the stands, it is an off-day.

Other great NFL duels pit the Bears against the 49ers, or the Bills against the Rams.  Monday night’s clash, featuring the Bengals and the Cowboys, promises plenty of entertainment and an exchange of bad blood.

If you are looking for a great place to take in great NFL action this week, don’t forget McGinty’s Wood Oven Pub in Divide, the sponsor of our fine NFL Page and Broncos’ preview. McGinty’s, with their sports bar setup and winner of many Best Of awards in the High Country, offers a prime opportunity to view nearly all of the NFL games and partake in some great game food and drink special.

Overall, it is a great game atmosphere. Additionally, McGinty’s sports a friendly staff and has food entrees just made for NFL football. It also is a prime spot for Thursday night games, which aren’t easily available to most fans, and of course, college ball.

Enjoy Week 14.
