The following is a press release submitted by the Woodland Park School District
Woodland Park School District (WPSD) is pleased that Ballot Question 2A did not pass in the November 5th election, preserving approximately $3.2 million in local city sales tax revenue dedicated to the district each year. This victory benefits Woodland Park students, families, and district staff.
“The district deeply appreciates the confidence the Woodland Park community has shown in us,” said Superintendent Ken Witt. “We look forward to seeing our schools, students, and community continue to benefit from this critical funding for years to come.”
This funding allows WPSD to strengthen its programs and maintain and grow opportunities for students and staff. Recent accomplishments highlight the district’s momentum: record-breaking academic progress, nationally recognized achievements, and two Distinction ratings reflecting the quality education in its schools. The students, teachers, and coaches are thriving, achieving excellence in the classroom, athletics, arts, and competitive programs.
With these funds, WPSD can protect local values by sustaining an education system that prepares students for a responsible and productive future. Through responsible stewardship, the district will make every dollar count, supporting the dedicated teachers, staff, and students who bring value to our community.
