Sept. 29 Performance Offering Special Ticket Price and Prime Venue
Woodland Park Wind Symphony
The Woodland Park Wind Symphony, which has performed locally for the last three decades, is once again hitting the regional spotlight with a special performance at the Ent Center for the Arts, at the UCCS, Shockley-Zalabak Theater (5225 N Nevada Avenue, Colorado Springs).
Similar to their past concerts at Ent, the performance, scheduled for Sept. 29 at 4 p.m., will come equipped with high-tech sound and lighting.
More notably, the general admission for this show is only $10, plus a $2.75 service fee due to the generosity of concert sponsors. The concert also will feature absolutely FREE ADMISSION for students. Few concerts in the region can match this type of offer.
A Popular Tradition
The Wind Symphony’s appearance at the Ent highlights a several-year tradition that has been well-received by concert-goers in the area.
Under the direction of Craig Harms, the Woodland Park Wind Symphony began performing at the Ent Center for the Arts, UCCS, in 2022. After being selected to perform at the 2022 Association of Concert Bands Annual Convention in New Mexico, Director Harms wanted to give the members a new opportunity to perform in a professional performance setting. He contacted the Ent to see if this would be possible.
Three years later, the Wind Symphony is still providing a musical experience for its members and audience in this venue with high-tech sound and lighting, providing an intimate acoustical concert experience.
According to Harms, the generosity of the Wind Symphony’s concert sponsors played a key role in reducing the cost of the venue, so the Wind Symphony is able to lower the ticket expense to only $10 (per person) plus $2.75 for general admission. This is a huge reduction in past admission expenses, which were about $20 per person in 2022 and 2023. Plus, an exciting new offer that is possible – Free Admission For Students. “This new pricing will expand our audience and give more people the opportunity to experience music in this venue,” said Harms.

The Woodland Park Wind Symphony is grateful to its audiences who have supported these musicians over the past 30 years as they have performed in the Ute Pass Cultural Center and the Church of the Nazarene in Woodland Park. The forthcoming performance at the Ent offers patrons the rare opportunity to see and hear the Wind Symphony in one of the region’s best venues for classical concerts.
“We hope our Woodland Park, Teller County and Ute Pass audience will join us on September 29 for our Concert at the Ent,” stated Harms.
The WP Wind Symphony leaders are especially thankful to their key sponsors and a number of individuals who played a significant role in making the concert at the Ent possible. These include the following groups and individuals: Ute Pass Saddle Club; Judy Laux and Bryan Critchlow; Laurie and Rob Danin; Ground Floor Home Inspection; Sherri and Jim Kardong; Meeker Music; Johanna MacArthur & Family; Karen & Rob Hoexter; GadzUKES Ukulele Jam; and John Boyajian. In addition, the WP Wind Symphony has received much support from many people in the community.

The Woodland Park Wind Symphony also plans on doing its regular series of holiday performances. The annual Christmas concert will be on December 8 at the Church of the Nazarene in Woodland Park. The Woodland Park Wind Symphony performs year-round in Woodland Park, including the 4th of July evening concert celebration.
