The Woodland Park High School (WPHS) Track and Field team traveled to Denver for the past two weeks, where they faced off against some of the best competition from larger schools in the area. Despite the challenges, the Panthers rose to the occasion and achieved new personal records (PRs) in their respective events.
The high level of competition proved to be a motivating factor for the Panther athletes, many of whom have seen significant improvements in their performances. In fact, several athletes have already secured their spots in the upcoming state meet, while others are just a few steps away from qualifying.
Head Coach Jeremy Grier expressed his excitement at the team’s progress, saying, “It is inspiring to see so many of our athletes setting new PRs and climbing up the all-time WPHS record boards. We still have a month left in the season, and I believe we can achieve even greater things if we continue to push ourselves.”
The teams’ next meet will be at Garry Berry Stadium on April 28th, and the Panthers are looking forward to showcasing their skills in front of their fans. Come out and cheer on our Panthers!!
