The Green Mountain Falls Planning Commission will meet on Oct. 11 at 6:30 p.m. in the GMF Town Hall.

 Wednesday, Oct. 12

Wellness Walk. Scheduled for Oct. 12 at the Garden of the Gods Visitor Center at 9 a.m. Meet at the upper level and choose a one, two or three-mile hike. Maps are available. Healthy living tips and mindfulness exercises to enhance your walk. Dress for the weather, wear comfortable shoes and bring plenty of water. Free admission.

The Teller County Commissioners will  meet on Oct 13 at 9:15 a.m. in the Centennial Building in Cripple Creek. The meeting is available in-person and on Zoom.

The Woodland Park Planning Commission will meet on Oct. 13 at 6:30 p.m. at the city council chambers, next to city hall. The meeting is available in-person and on Zoom.

Friday, Oct. 14

Don’t Miss Young Frankenstein.  Scheduled from now through Oct. 30 at the Butte Theater in Cripple Creek. Saturday, Oct. 15

Local Author Showcase. Local Authors talking about their book at the Woodland Park Public Library. This annual event is scheduled for Oct. 15 from 1 to 3:30 p.m.  The authors will answer questions about their process. Some self-published and others small press published or large press published. State of the County Breakfast. Hosted by the Greater Woodland Park Chamber of Commerce, this annual event is scheduled for Oct. 17 from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the Ute Pass Cultural Center. The event sponsor is Newmont. Teller County Commission Chairman Dan Williams will be the keynote speaker. Make reservations by Oct. 12 at the chamber’s website.

Election Ballots. Election ballots for the Nov. 8 election will be mailed out to registered, active voters, starting on Nov. 17.  For more information, visit the Teller County government’s website. Check regular election updates in TMJ News.

Trunk or Treat. Bring all the goblins and ghouls to a frightfully fun time in Cripple Creek.  Appropriate costumes are suggested because everything will be outdoors. Munchkins, ghosts, dragons, and witches and warlocks will be crawling, skipping, and slithering their way through the maze of decorated vehicles.  Don’t miss the excitement from 5:00-7:00 PM on Halloween night.  Trunks will be set up on 1st Street south of Bennett Ave, and along Masonic Ave, next to the Parks & Rec Building.
