WPSD Board of Education Appoints New Director

Cassie Kimbrell was sworn in on June 14 as the Woodland Park School District (WPSD) Board Director representing District D – Gateway Boundaries.

During a Special Board Meeting on Wednesday, June 8, members of the Board voted to
appoint Kimbrell to fill the seat vacated by Gary Brovetto, who resigned from his position on April 14, 2022.

Kimbrell moved to Woodland Park with her husband after attending the University-Purdue
Indianapolis, where she majored in Media Arts & Science. Kimbrell is a mom with a deep
passion for serving the community.

“This Board is serving during a critical time that impacts both current and future generations, and I look forward to helping this Board overcome hurdles they may face to ensure continued success for the District,” said Kimbrell.

Kimbrell has a professional background in business networking and marketing, which she
says will assist her in building relationships with community members, taxpayers, parents,
teachers, and businesses to enhance the District’s public standing.

“I am very excited to work with Cassie as a member of the WPSD School Board. She is a
great addition to our board, and I am confident she will provide fresh insight and ideas to
help us continue our efforts.” David Rusterholtz, School Board President

Kimbrell also has experience working on boards and committees and has studied current WPSD Board policies. In addition, Kimbrell has reviewed information regarding the Colorado Association of School Boards (CASB) and the Colorado Department of Education (CDE) to further her knowledge of school board roles and responsibilities.
