In the early morning hours of February 1, 2021, Mary “Polly” Nauert Flora, of
Cañon City, Colorado passed into another plane of existence. Born January 19, 1950,
Polly grew up in Geneva, Illinois. To know her was to love her. She was free-spirited
and genuine, with unwavering compassion for her family and beloved rescue dogs.
Nothing gave her more joy than tending her garden, spending time cooking and baking
with her family, and relaxing with her loyal companion dogs, Skye, Chewy, and Bart.
Polly was preceded in death by her father, Jake Young; her husband, Bill Flora,
whom she nurtured with patience and kindness just months ago during his passing; and
her stepson, David Flora.
She is survived by her brother, Steve Nelson; adoring sons, Eric (Tracy) Nauert,
Jason (Jessica) Nauert; loving stepchildren, Matt Flora, Nicole (Brian) Hepperle, and
Noelle Flora. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Jesiree, Jacob, Braylee,
Jansen, Hailey Grace, Maddux, Sabrina, Angelina, Valentina; and her great-
granddaughters, Victoria, Kaylleigh, and Jaela.
Polly’s calm and positive nature was infectious, and her legacy will live on
through her extended family. Per her wishes, there will not be formal services for her.
Instead, we request that her life be celebrated with the same warmth and energy that
she radiated while on this planet.
