Dear Editor:

COVID-19 Resources Identified for Green Mountain Falls Residents

The Town of Green Mountain Falls, in a spirit of collaboration and support, has been actively working to identify and provide each of your households and businesses/organizations with information and options to assure solvency during this trying and difficult time. We continue to be in contact with various partners both locally and nationally and are endeavoring to assist our Citizens and businesses as much as we possibly can. As more information comes available, we will post it on the Town of Green Mountain Falls Facebook page. Please like and follow us on our OFFICIAL Facebook page for more information.

We cannot realistically expect State and Federal entities to come to our rescue; however, we can maximize our efforts by working together as a Community to get the best and most relief possible. This will take an active Community effort on everyone’s part, and our efforts may still fall short of everyone’s expectations; however, if we don’t put forth the effort, we will, surely see no results.

Resources for Seniors: Pikes Peak Area Council of Governments (PPACG) has been pushing hard to help with senior needs, coordinating with service providers, doing direct outreach to seniors in the region, and coordinating with the State to get funding. Call the PPACG about senior resources at (719-471-2096) leave a message and they will get back to you promptly (or email them at info@ppacg.org). Like and follow their Facebook page, www.facebook.com/ppacg for more information.

Resources for Small Businesses & Non-Profit Organizations:
At this time the Small Business Administration Low-Interest Loans for business owners impacted by COVID-19. The SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loan assistance program application went to Governor for signature on 3/17/2020. Once received by the SBA, the program will begin to roll out statewide. The rate is current at 3.75%. Remember, these are loans and not grants. Each Office of Emergency Management (this is a County office) office will then coordinate kick off meetings and information share for the business community to begin filling out Economic Impact documents for the loans. Once started, each business works with SBA direct on this process. If you are interested in participating in this program, please let us know. Click here to see program details.

If you own a small business, you may want to track your business losses. Grant funds MAY become available to reimburse for those losses. Again, if we don’t put forth the effort, we will, surely see no results.

GMF Staff is adhering to the social distancing recommendations of Federal, State, and County agencies and

Town Hall is closed for face-to-face business. Our Public Works team is still providing services at this time. Please do not approach Public Works Staff, and instead contact Town Hall or submit an online Kudos/Concern on our website homepage if you have a public works related praise/request rather than approaching Staff.

You should know that although office staff is working remotely and not in the office, we continue to be responsive and accessible. Staff is available during Town Hall business hours by phone, email, and/or video conferencing. All of our contact information remains the same and can be found on the contacts page of the Town’s website www.gmfco.us.

Above all else, please be sure to take care of yourself, your family, and household during this very difficult time. Your health and safety are paramount, and we want to make sure we all get through this safely.

Very Respectfully,
Town Staff
