Get out your datebook and write down the Grand Opening of The Warehouse on Friday, March 13, from 9 AM to 5 PM. You won’t want to miss the introduction of Woodland Park’s newest resale outlet for gently used clothing and high-end accessories, furniture, appliances, building supplies, home decor, and art. You’ll like what you see.
The Warehouse is owned by Lynn Riedhart. When you stop by her new store, she may look familiar. Riedhart is the former store manager for Woodland Park Goodwill.
While working there, she discovered that Goodwill sends most of their large or valuable donations down the hill to Colorado Springs. However, she did not go into business to compete with Goodwill, but rather to support the local community. She wants to put that generosity to work here, and to do something for Woodland Park.
Riedhart’s shop is a for-profit business with a philanthropic twist. When you make a purchase, you will get to vote for the Teller County charity you would like to support that month. At the end of the month, a contribution will be made to the organization selected by the patrons. Copies of the donation checks will be posted in the store so everyone can see how much was given and to whom.
You will feel good about shopping at The Warehouse because your money will help support a local non-profit, and also because you will be buying quality merchandise. The items at the Warehouse come from estate sales, auctions, moving sales, and a few generous donors. The name brand clothing and high-end purses are all in good condition, but still affordable. There’s no need to sort through a lot of clutter to find the good stuff. It’s all good stuff.
Riedhart’s furniture is cleaned, repaired, and ready to use before it goes on the sales floor. The clothing is inspected for missing buttons and sticking zippers, and most items have been cleaned and ironed. Also, a jeweler will be available to repair your treasures.
“I would like this to become a destination place, while supporting local non-profits, and providing good jobs in Woodland Park,” said Riedhart.
You can visit the Warehouse at 1750 East U.S. Hwy 24 in Woodland Park on the downhill side of the Safeway shopping center. It is important to note that things have changed since the Re-Store was there. The property has a secure gate, and the grounds and building have been cleaned and refurbished. No dumping. No junk.
Winter hours at The Warehouse will be from 9 AM to 5 PM, Tuesdays through Sundays. The store is closed on Mondays. Summer hours will start on May 1. The store will stay open two hours longer until 7 PM so you can shop after work. Look for the red and white flag flying when the store is open.
