New Year’s Eve is just around the corner. Time to make some plans, because on Wednesday of next week it’ll be time to give 2014 the boot and ring in 2015!
We at The Mountain Jackpot invite our readers to celebrate New Year’s Eve mountain style. Here are a few suggestions on where to find a party in our area and raise a glass of champagne in honor of the new year of 2015.
Up in Cripple Creek, the casinos each have their own unique style, and a party atmosphere prevails no matter what day of the year you visit. Welcome the arrival of 2015 with some games of chance, and each casino has special New Year’s Eve promotions to ensure that you have a memorable evening out on the town.
The Triple Crown Casinos, which includes the Brass Ass, the Midnight Rose and JP McGills are each promoting their own gaming options for New Year’s Eve.
At the Midnight Rose look for a special New Year’s Eve Poker Tournament with a guaranteed prize pool of $2015.00.
At the Brass Ass there’ll be appetizers, live music described as Pop Country by Exit West from 9:00pm until Midnight.
At the Midnight Rose, The Down Under Restaurant will be featuring their New Year’s Eve Buffet from 4:00pm until 10:00pm.
And at the Triple Crown casinos, a complementary champagne toast with party hats and tiaras will be available to all at midnight.
Across the street at Bronco Billy’s Casino the fun starts at noon on New Year’s Eve day with cash drawings every 30 minutes; plus hats, horns and beads all day then boas and bowties from 6:00pm until midnight along with a champagne toast.
The Steakhouse at Bronco Billy’s is offering a special New Year’s Eve dinner menu featuring Stuffed Lobster Tails.
At Johnny Nolon’s, Club Card members can earn entries for a cash drawing of $2014.00 on New Year’s Eve and there will be another cash giveaway of $2015.00 on New Year’s Day.
The Century Casino will be having cash drawings for Gold Club members and party favors with a champagne toast at midnight for all.
Over at the Double Eagle Casino, they’ll be celebrating New Year’s Eve with a Jamaican flair. Enjoy live Reggae music by Be Positive from 9pm until midnight. Then patrons can partake in a complementary champagne toast with party favors to ring in the New Year.
Winfields, a very classy New York style restaurant located in the Double Eagle has a very special menu planned for New Year’s Eve. Two featured entrees will be Coconut Shrimp and Jamaican Jerk Filet.
The Wildwood Casino is hosting a Boa Bash from 8pm until 1:00am complete with complementary boas and party favors, music and dancing. Plus there will be hourly cash, wild loot and prize drawings.
Mavericks, the main restaurant at the Wildwood, will be featuring a New Year’s Eve Buffet from 3:00pm until 10:00pm and later on at the Saddle Bar, patrons can enjoy breakfast specials starting at midnight.
All the casinos in Cripple Creek have overnight accommodations, but call ahead to see about availability for New Year’s Eve. Cancellations are always a possibility for you last minute revelers. And Cripple Creek boasts an array of Bed & Breakfast establishments. A quick search of the internet should provide some information on overnight accommodations in Cripple Creek.
The Imperial Hotel is home to the Midland Depot restaurant and the historic Gold Bar Room Theater. On New Year’s Eve guests can dine at the restaurant and the Gold Bar Room Theater will once again be presenting local Elvis Tribute Artist, Dennis Thornberry. The show starts at 7:00pm. 719-344-9274.
Also in Cripple Creek, at Ralf’s Tavern patrons can buy a wrist band for $10.00 which, according to Ralf’s owner Chris Hazlett, entitles the wearer to “all the domestic draft beer you can drink without drawing a penalty.”
Beginning at 9:00pm on New Year’s Eve, revelers at Ralf’s can savor the sounds of live music provided by Tejon Street Thieves.
The Cripple Creek Elks Club will be hosting a New Year’s Eve dance party for those 21 and older. Doors open at 6:30pm and the dance starts at 8:00 with live music. CCRV will be the band for the evening, playing a mix of country and classic rock.
Featured at the Elks Club event will be a drawing for a 1999 Ford F150 4×4. Raffle tickets are just $10.00 and the truck is courtesy of the Cripple Creek and Victor Mine. The drawing will be held at 9:00pm and if present to win, the lucky winner will receive an additional cash prize of $100.00.
Up in Victor, the Headframe Tavern is getting ready to close its doors at the end of the year so they will be starting a New Year’s celebration on Dec. 30 and it will continue on into New Year’s Eve with an ongoing Happy Hour and 25% off all food items on the menu until it’s gone.
And if you’re looking for a room for the night on New Year’s Eve, the Victor Hotel might be your best bet. As of this writing, rooms were still available.719-689-3553. Victor is only about 5 miles away from Cripple Creek and there is shuttle service between Cripple Creek and Victor.
For safe and worry free transportation, the city of Cripple Creek operates a shuttle service all around town and up to Victor. The casinos have shuttle service as well.
