Woodland Country Lodge is a wonderful place to make your home away from home while exploring the Pikes Peak Region. This sixty room hotel in Woodland Park is owned by Mark Rabaut, who has operated the property for last two years. Rabaut had wanted to move to Colorado to be closer his family, and found the business opportunity he needed in order to relocate in Woodland Park.
For Rabaut, the key to success in the hospitality industry is to offer a nice clean property with all the services guests need to relax on the road and to also be an important part of the local community. “We’d like our hotel to be the place where the locals hang out. We are focused on quality and service,” he said when asked what made the Woodland Country Lodge a great place to stay or visit.
The amenities at the Woodland Country Lodge include 60 nice sized rooms with two queen beds or a king bed. A few of the King rooms include a whirlpool tub as well. The lodge has a refreshing swimming pool for its guests, or for a small fee locals may swim if the pool is not busy. Please call ahead if you would like to use the pool. Other services include free continental breakfast, wifi, an ATM and a computer in the lobby for guest use, TV with HBO and cable, and even fresh baked cookies and coffee in the afternoons.
The Woodland Country Lodge includes a popular new expanded deck and patio area with ample seating and beautiful views that opened on June 6. You can enjoy a drink or a bite to eat at the outdoor bar there, which offers a limited menu of grilled food. There are outdoor heaters and a firepit to keep the area cozy all year. The lodge’s patio bar also offers live entertainment on the weekends for locals as well as guests. It’s a great place for your family reunion, business or church meeting, or wedding. They can host up to 160 people with outdoor seating.
The locals have discovered that the entertainment at the lodge is a great way to relax and have fun close to home on the weekends. For example, you can sing around the fire with the music of guitarist Kimmy Cox, or on Sundays the Lodge sometimes hosts fundraising entertainment events for local non-profits like the Aspen Mine Center, Our Lady of the Woods Catholic Church, the Kiwanis, and the Wounded Warrior Project.
To keep the good times alive during the winter months, Rabaut is planning to add a pub with inside seating and patio access to the Woodland Country Lodge’s facilities. Once completed, the pub will offer both food and drinks.
The Woodland Country Lodge is open 24-7 at 723 West U.S. Highway 24 in
