Amanda May’s Café is conveniently located in the Aspen Mine Center on Bennett Avenue in the heart of downtown Cripple Creek . Amanda May and her husband Bret purchased the business, formerly known as Cripple Creek Coffee, in early February this year. Currently Amanda May’s Cafe is open Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. The café is closed on Sundays.

Amanda previously worked for Cripple Creek Rehab and Wellness for four years as their Dietary Manager. She knows nutrition and since she hails from Louisiana , her culinary style incorporates a southern flair. Amanda also insists on quality ingredients for all items on the menu. The restaurant uses Ranch Direct Foods and cage free eggs. Everything is made from scratch without the use of commercial food service products.

The gourmet coffee served at Amanda May’s Cafe is available by the cup or may be purchased by the pound. This flavorful robust coffee is small batch roasted right here in Colorado , and by the cup or by the pound is very reasonably priced.

Start your day in Cripple Creek with a breakfast sandwich, a muffin or pastry accompanied by a cup of great tasting coffee at Cripple Creek Coffee. Or choose from a selection of breakfast sandwiches incorporating one or two of those cage free eggs. Lunch specials are always available, with the emphasis on Wraps, Paninnis and other fun and innovative sandwiches. Lunch also offers a daily homemade soup.

If gluten sensitivity is an issue, Amanda May’s Cafe offers gluten free menu items as well. In addition, vegetarian and organic options are also on the menu. Catering is available. On the day of my visit, a wedding was to take place in the afternoon, with the reception to follow in the cozy and relaxed yet refined atmosphere offered at Amanda May’s Cafe.

As the parents of two school age children, Amanda and her husband run a family friendly restaurant in the Aspen Mine Center , an establishment that is free of all gaming activity. And just across the street is the Butte Opera House, making Amanda May’s Cafe the perfect place to dine prior to a family outing to a matinee performance of a melodrama. So when in Cripple Creek , and looking for a wholesome breakfast or lunch and a cup of great tasting fresh coffee, Amanda and Bret invite you to visit Amanda May’s Cafe. You’re sure to find something that pleases your palate and satisfies your appetite.

As Amanda May’s Café T-shirts proudly proclaim, “We’re all up here, because we’re not all there!” We all love our mountain lifestyle. So stop by and sample the homemade goodness of Amanda’s freshly prepared breakfast and lunch menu items.
