First Responder Food Drive: County Efforts Help Stock Up Local Food Banks

Starting in April, the Teller County Sheriff’s Office and other local first responders put out a massive call for non-perishable food items to stock up the county’s food banks. Local fire departments and ambulance stations served as drop off locations for food.

Moreover, several first responders were present at the Walmart in Woodland Park on May 9 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to collect donations. At the end of the day, the food drive generated enough non-perishable food items to fill the sheriff’s bearcat SWAT team vehicle.
