During its time in GMF, the Moose has been consistently voted as the bar/restaurant with the Best Pizza on The Mountain and one of the top places for live music, according to annual reader contests conducted by TMJ News. For the Midnight Hippies, which have gained quite a local following in the last five years, look for more of their upcoming performances at the Crystola Roadhouse in Crystola, which now features new owners. No definite plans have been publicly announced for potential new operators of the old Blue Moose Tavern site, a legendary bar and entertainment hub with ties to the area for decades. Everyone in Green Mountain Falls, including many visitors, has a favorite Blue Moose story. TMJ News wishes Cat the best in her future endeavors as we have special memories in this place. End of an Era!
The Blue Moose Tavern, a mainstay in Green Mountain Falls for years, celebrated the ending of its illustrious era in GMF with a reeving live performance by the Midnight Hippies, a popular Colorado Springs-based cover band that does a wide range of songs stemming from the 1960s to early 2000s, before a packed house on April 25. For the Midnight Hippies, their marathon performance represented their 25th show at the Blue Moose Tavern. Cat Guidry, owner of the Blue Moose, may relocate the establishment to a new site. The Blue Moose management team, though, celebrated their closing in GMF with a final blow-out celebration, not lacking in stories and memories.
