Statement from City Council Candidate Mary Sekowski

“I want to sincerely thank the voters of Woodland Park for participating in this important election and for taking the time to learn about the issues facing our community.

While tonight’s outcome was not what we had hoped for, I am incredibly proud of the campaign we ran.

This campaign was built on listening, transparency, and a commitment to independent leadership. I had the opportunity to meet so many thoughtful, engaged residents who care deeply about the direction of Woodland Park. Your voices matter, and I am grateful you shared them with me.

To everyone who supported this effort—our volunteers, sign-waving team, and those who encouraged neighbors and friends to vote—thank you. You made a difference, and your dedication reflects the very best of our community.

I would also like to congratulate the candidates who were elected. Serving our community is an important responsibility, and I wish them success as they work on behalf of Woodland Park.

I also want to emphasize something important: our work does not end with this election. The conversations we started—about transparency, accountability, and respectful leadership—are ongoing and vital to the health of our city.

I remain committed to Woodland Park and will continue to stay engaged, listen, and contribute in meaningful ways.

Thank you again for your support, your participation, and your belief in the importance of being involved.”
