Chiefs Take On Number One Colts; Raiders Battle Browns
Trevor Phipps
The Broncos have recorded quite an impressive winning streak during the 2025 season, even though several of their victories (including the recent game against the Raiders) were quite sketchy. In fact, they were downright ugly, according to most sports pundits.
And after the Chiefs’ game last week, we could all tell they needed a break.
The Broncos get their much needed rest this week, as both they and the Los Angeles Chargers have a bye. The Broncos looked pretty good going into their break, and fans can only hope that the time off will help them improve.
Only time will tell, but hopefully they will have their full team back on the field next week. During Week 13, they hit the road to take on the 3-7 Washington Commanders on Sunday night.
For now, all we can do is hope that the Chiefs lose. Based on the amazing and surprising Colts, Bronco fans might get what they wish for.
Indianapolis Colts at Kansas City Chiefs, Sunday 11 a.m.
The Chiefs have definitely come back lately and they are not a team to count out. In fact, their 5-4 record (at the time of this writing) probably does not show the team’s true strength.
After the Chiefs’ big, and highly publicized loss against the Buffalo Bills, they dropped slowly down the ranks. But after their bye in Week 10, they had dropped to 7th in power rankings (one rank above the Broncos).
The Chiefs still have a stellar passing game, and they are currently in 7th place in the league with the most passing yards. The Chiefs don’t have as good of a running game, but they are still in the top half in the league when it comes to yards on the ground.
The Colts on the other hand, are probably the biggest surprise in the NFL this season. After a mediocre-at-best 2024 season, the Colts have really come out swinging this year.
After 10 games, the Colts held the best record in the NFL as they were tied at 8-2 with the New England Patriots and the Broncos. After Week 10, the Colts were number one in the league with the most rushing yards and second in passing yards. They were also ranked third in power rankings.
However, like I have said before, it is never wise to count out the Chiefs. KC QB Patrick Mahomes always has a way to give a defense a hard time. But, I think this match will be close, but Kansas City will fall in the end. But look for a high scoring affair at Arrowhead Stadium in KC.
Trevor’s Pick: Indianapolis Colts 34, Kansas City Chiefs 32
Vegas Line: Chiefs by 9.5.
Cleveland Browns at Las Vegas Raiders, Sunday 2:05 p.m.
Normally, I would say to tune out of this bottom-of-the-barrel matchup, but it is always fun to see a division rival team lose: especially the Raiders. And even though both the Brown and Raiders don’t look stellar this season, they could still put up a good game.
The Raiders have not produced what I thought they would this year, but they do seem to be slightly improving. Besides, they barely lost to the Jaguars in overtime in Week 9. And, they definitely gave the Broncos a run for their money in Week 10. According to television analyst and former Patriot quarterback Tom Brady, they should have won that game.
The Browns on the other hand, really have not accomplished much. With their rookie quarterback Dillon Gabriel looking horrible, many fans wonder why former Colorado Buffaloes’ star Sheduer Sanders has not been given a chance. But according to experts, don’t expect to see him on the field since many believe the Browns’ coach has some sort of vendetta against Sanders and is refusing to play him.
Despite both teams sitting towards the bottom offensively, the Raiders do seem to have a slight edge over the Browns. However defensively, the Browns do seem to have the edge over Las Vegas.
Anyways, I think it’s fair to say that both of these teams want a win badly. I just don’t think it’s quite the time to give up and start looking at draft picks for 2026.
Trevor’s Pick: Las Vegas Raiders 21, Cleveland Browns 20
Vegas Line: Raiders by 3.5.
Other Games to Watch
Buffalo Bills at Houston Texans, Thursday 6:15 p.m.
Just when everyone thought the Bills were becoming the team to beat in the NFL they lose a big match against the lackluster Miami Dolphins. And to make matters worse, they lost by quite a bit too.
The Texans though, have started to improve and have been called a team to watch by experts. If the Texans are on a roll and the Bills found themselves in a slump, an upset could be brewing.
Trevor’s Pick: Buffalo Bills 27, Houston Texans 24
Vegas Line: Bills by 3.5.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Los Angeles Rams, Sunday 6:20 p.m.
This Sunday night match should definitely be one worth watching. In fact, Vegas has picked this one as the closest game of the week.
The Buccaneers have been pretty steady all season, but after Week 10 they dropped to tenth in power rankings. The Rams, however, have kept improving and are now ranked second in power across the league.
Trevor’s Pick: Los Angeles Rams 34, Tampa Bay Buccaneers 27
Vegas Line: Rams by 1.5.
