NFL Watching Tips for Week 4

Brought to you by McGinty’s Wood Oven Pub

Alright, it’s time for Prime Time, Monday Night football, baby.  Not exactly a great time for a Denver Broncos’ game, based on past performances on main stage TV.

History doesn’t bode well for the Broncos, when they venture away from their usual comfort zone of Sunday afternoon football. On Monday nights, the Broncs have a collective, dismal record of 34-44-1, but they have fared much better during the Monday Night spotlight since 2012.

Regardless of all these ridiculous stats, the Broncos will take on the Cincinnati Bengals this Monday night (Sept. 29) at home. This is a pivotal game for both teams. Game time is 6:15 p.m.

Contrary to what TMJ Trevor says and the Vegas oddsmakers, this one may just be too close to call, according to football insiders.   But with the injury of Bengals’ Drama King himself, quarterback Joe Burrow, this could open the door slightly for a Bronco victory. (Thank God, we will be spared from witnessing any lingering TV interviews with Mr. Primadonna himself). Plus, the home field advantage is crucial.

We just hope for a good outing by Bo Nix and the offense, and if the defense can regain their devastating, destructive power they showed in Week 1, a game the Broncos would have lost if it wasn’t for their amazing D. This is a must win for the Broncos, as their schedule does not get any easier.

And if you can’t wait that long for NFL football madness, or aren’t crazy about Monday Night football, fret not, as plenty of options are available. And if you live in the lower Ute Pass, you may be tied up in a crucial meeting that may determine if the town of Green Mountain Falls will expand its size dramatically (see related story). There are some great games, scheduled for Sunday. These include the Ravens versus the Chiefs, which could become a do or die outing for KC, and all you Chief fans. Or there is the Sunday night Packers and Cowboys, showdown, involving one of the great NFL rivalries, stemming from the 1960s.

Plenty of NFL and college game action is in store.

If you are looking for a great place to take in the Broncos game and other NFL slug matches, head to McGinty’s Wood Oven Pub in Divide, the sponsor of our fine NFL Page and Broncos’ preview. McGinty’s, with their sports bar setup, offers a prime opportunity to view nearly all of the NFL games and partake in some great game food and drink specials.  McGinty’s also sports a loyal group of Bronco fans and some enthusiastic cynics too.

Another great NFL watching spot is Jess’ Place in Woodland Park, with a rather vocal crowd of football fans. More on that as the season progresses. Regardless, our fine abode abounds with great spots for Bronco viewing and places to cheer away for great NFL action.

Enjoy Week 4.
