With summer reaching a full-status operation for area eateries, Divide’s own Home of Margaret’s Munchies, located at the intersection of Hwys. 24 and 67 in the “Center of the Known Universe (Divide, Co),” has been busy non-stop. In fact, the former home to a controversial BBQ spot located right off the highway has become a go-to place for a good meal, a quick bite, or something delicious to bring home.
Now that the weather is as hot as it gets for the Teller High Country, the culinary masters at Margaret’s have chosen to provide a larger selection of cold drinks/supplements. Just when everybody thought that the Divide hub was just a go-to spot for coffee and breakfast/lunch items, they upped their game and started offering homemade ice cream and milkshakes.
So now, Home of Margaret’s Munchies is also a prime destination to cool down while it’s hot on the highway. In other words, their thirst-quenching drink game has definitely leveled up.
With their addition of ice cream, the eatery now offers milkshakes, malts, sundaes and cones. Along with the classic flavors, such as chocolate and vanilla, Margaret’s also offers strawberry, cookie crunch, huckleberry, mint chip, Pikes Peak Trail, Strawberry Cheesecake, raspberry sorbet and peach.
To balance out the hot weather, Home of Margaret’s Munchies also makes special cold drinks. On a hot day, visitors can enjoy a lemonade, strawberry guava lemonade, Matcha Peachu, Pink Pazzazz (with strawberry, vanilla or coconut) or a pina colada.
Their coffee drinks come with even more unique flavor selection. And during the warm months, iced coffee is on the menu.
Aside from their beverage selections, the eatery still offers plenty to quench hunger as well. On any given day the display cases are filled with hand-made sweets that are sure to make mouths water.
Margaret’s sell whole pies and just a slice. Last week, they had lemon blackberry, cherry and blackberry rhubarb pies all out on display. Another cooler was filled with Danishes, allowing the eatery to offer a buy three get one free special. Danishes on display included strawberry cream cheese and blackberry.
However, Home of Margaret’s Munchies isn’t just a prime spot for sweets and drinks, they also have a delicious breakfast and lunch menu. Hungry travelers passing through Divide can enjoy delicious items like buffalo burgers and yak steak sandwiches.
More good news is that the eatery recently expanded its hours. The go-to spot in Divide is now open every day from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
