NFL Watching Tips

With our 2025 successes come prime games, Monday Night Football, and yes, Thursday Night Football, not a favorite outing for the Denver Broncos.

But regardless, this Thursday, the Broncs clash with the defending Super Bowl champs, the Seattle Seahawks.  Game time is 6:15 at Empower Field.

With a home outing, the Broncs got a decent chance. But again, it’s what version of the Denver Broncos enters the pigskin arena.

Hopefully, the Bronco offense can hit the recharge button, and QB Bo Nix gets the support he needs to succeed.

Historically, this is a series in which the Broncs hold a 35-23 advantage, although the Hawks have dominated post-season play between the franchises with a 2-0 mark. The most devastating blow came for the Broncos in Super Bowl XLVIII when the Seahawks, led by the acclaimed “Legion of Boom” defense, routed the Broncos 43-8 on February 2, 2014.  That one hurt, as it came on the heels of a great, spectacular season for Peyton Manning.

It took the Broncos two years to recover from that loss when they won the Big Game for the third time in the winter of 2016.

Of course, when you talk about history, you can’t avoid the subject of Russell Wilson, one of the key stars in the Hawks’ earlier routing of the Broncos.

For some odd reason, the Broncos picked Wilson to revitalize their team, a venture that failed miserably.

History aside, this should be a great game and one you probably are going to have to catch at a local sports bar.  Thursday Night football isn’t an easy view, unless you have some kind of package.

But if Bronco football isn’t your thing, plenty of great games are in store on Sunday. Check out some suggestions in adjoining column.
