Weekly Specials Entice Customers at Divide’s Home of Margaret’s Munchies

Even though it may look like just a small log cabin on the side of the road, Home of Margaret’s Munchies in Divide actually serves a large selection of delicious goods.

Their dining area may be small, but the location provides this local eatery with a special charm.

Only one problem with this quaint culinary paradise: The word has started to get out. In fact, almost every time locals have driven by the small restaurant during the last few months, the indoor dining room has been packed. In addition, it’s not uncommon to see a handful of people at the same time waiting in line for “food on the go.”

Many locals agree that the broad selection of food is what really makes this coffee shop/eatery a prime place to stop. Even though it is small, the eatery features a large selection of coffees, teas, pastries, pies, breakfast and lunch items.

Many tend to enjoy the “speed bump-sized” breakfast burritos that come packed with eggs, potatoes and a choice of bacon, ham or sausage. Now, Margaret’s menu even offers a smaller burrito option for those who may not be as hungry, along with a smaller quesadilla advertised for seniors and kids. Their beverages also hit the spot on a warm day, or following hours of traveling.

The baking skills of the Munchies’ crew are also on display every single day. Even though it changes quite often, the Home of Margaret’s Munchies bakery display often entice customers with their unique selection of pies, delicious pastries, Danishes, yogurt parfaits and other yummy snacks.

And a quality of Margaret’s Munchies often overlooked is the eatery’s “Daily Specials.” These additions, displayed on a daily board, are known to change quite frequently, and have been the subject of considerable customer praise. For example, a couple of weeks ago, the restaurant had lunch specials, such as a grilled chicken bacon ranch sandwich. For breakfast, they offered loaded hash browns, and a ham steak plate that came equipped with two eggs, hash browns and toast. Their “Steak Special,” meanwhile, featured a yak of beef sirloin with two eggs and hash browns.

Also on the board were seasonal beverages, such as a spiced caramel apple cider float and a pumpkin affogato. Their smoothie special recently showcased a peach blueberry flavored. Currently, the eatery is also selling homemade palisade peach jam in four-ounce or eight-ounce jars.

Soups at Margaret’s change out daily with offerings like chicken enchilada soup. Recently, the eatery also advertised their special iced teas of the week, which included cranberry apple cider punch and spiced cranberry and honey.

If the weather is warm or cold, Home of Margaret’s Munchies always has something that can quench hunger or thirst. For more information, visit their Facebook page or call the Home of Margaret’s Munchies directly at 719-258-8134.
