Yoga. Community yoga classes are scheduled at the Church in the Wildwood on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 9 a.m. and a newly-started class on Tuesday evening at 6:30 p.m. All the classes occur in the church’s Tatter Hall area. These popular classes are led by Lainie Thomas.
The Green Mountain Falls Planning Commission will meet on July 8 at 6:30 p.m. at the GMF Town Hall. The meeting is available in-person or online by accessing the town’s website.

Wellness Walk. Scheduled for July 9 at the Garden of the Gods Visitor Center at 9 a.m. Meet at the upper level and choose a one, two or three-mile hike. Maps are available. Healthy living tips and mindfulness exercises to enhance your walk. Dress for the weather, wear comfortable shoes and bring plenty of water. Free admission.
Green Box Arts Festival. Enjoy the final week of the 17th annual Green Box Arts Festival in Green Mountain Falls, which continues through July 12. It is capped by more than 150 events, including artistic installation and displays, dance and music performances, guided hikes, classes and workshops and community gatherings. Final Weekend for Colorado Colleen Show. Classic melodrama is thriving at the Butte Theater again, but time is running out for the 2025 melodrama show. This summer’s melodrama show, which continues until July 13, is by Chris Sorensen and features a brand-new Olio! Young Harrison Logan is in love with Irish Dance Hall girl Eily O’Connor, better known as The Colorado Colleen. However, the evil Angus Flagg holds the mortgage to his family home and threatens to seize the property for lack of payment. Harrison’s mother wants him to forget about Eily and marry his rich cousin Anne Chute to save the family home. Will Harrison be able to thwart Mr. Flagg and win Eily in the end? Chamber Golf Tournament. The Woodland Park Chamber of Commerce will host its annual golf tournament on July 11 at the Shining Mountain Golf Course. This tourney is a scramble format, with four-person teams. It is one of the more popular tournaments at Shining Mountain during the season. History Talks. The Cripple Creek Heritage Center will host a few upcoming history talks with Sherry Skye Stuart, showcasing “Forgotten Female Felons,” set for July 12; and Linda Wommack (a relative of the legendary Bob Wommack), doing a presentation on July 19. Grand Finale of Green Box Arts. The Green Box Arts Festival will conclude with a silent disco party from 8 to 10 p.m. at GMF Farm Stand. Shining Mountain Summer Activities. The Shining Mountain golf course in Woodland Park is fully open for the 2025 links season. The spacious bar is open for a variety of events, and occasionally features live music. The SM facility also is the host for Ute Pass Kiwanis Bingo nights. Drink specials are available, and check with regular promotions online and in this newspaper. More special events are now available. Several of the golf leagues have already kicked off official play for the season, and there are a slew of charity events. Visit With Ghosts of the Past. This event is sponsored by the Victor Lowell Thomas Museum and will be held at 10 a.m. on select Saturdays from June through October, weather allowing. Check VictorMuseum.com for schedules and information. Local historian Alicia Harrington will guide you through the cemetery telling stories of grave robbers, insurance fraud, and unusual characters. Meet just outside the gate in Pauper’s Field by 10 a.m. You can also purchase tickets at the museum ahead of the event. Advance reservations are encouraged and can be made at VictorMuseum.com. Tickets at the gate are by cash only. Tickets are $15 for a single ticket and $12.50 per additional ticket. Be sure to dress appropriately for mountain weather (which can include wind, cold temperatures, snow, and rain), wear good hiking shoes or boots, and bring water and sunscreen. There are no restroom facilities at the cemetery.

Beehive Debut. The Butte Theater in Cripple Creek will debut its summer musical, “Beehive,” on the weekend of July 18-20. This is a 60s musical that runs until August 31.
Victor Gold Rush Days. Regarded as one of the best festivals in southern Teller County, Victor Gold Rush Days in Victor will occur from July 18-20. The several day festival is abuzz with a spree of games, festivities and historic tours, aimed at reliving Victor’s illustrious past. Some of the highlights include a vintage baseball games, burro races, a parade and mining games. Visit the city’s tourism web site for more details.
Bronc Day Festival. One of Colorado’s most beloved small-town festivals returns this summer with a full day of family-friendly fun, western heritage, and community spirit. The 87th Annual Bronc Day Festival will take place Saturday, July 26, 2025 in Green Mountain Falls, Colorado. With a nostalgic presentation of the town’s past and a lively celebration of the present, the festival offers something for all ages, from vintage cars to the always-popular rubber duck races. The day kicks off with a parade at 10:00 AM, followed by a full day of festivities including live music, old-fashioned kids’ games, a pie contest, food trucks, and local vendors. This year’s event is special as it celebrates the 135th anniversary of Green Mountain Falls (1890–2025). Nestled in the foothills of Pikes Peak, Green Mountain Falls offers a picturesque backdrop for this free, family-friendly event. Bronc Day has delighted generations of locals and visitors since 1939. Famously started by local legend, Sallie Bush—publisher of one of the area’s earliest newspapers, the Ute Pass Echo, and whose name is memorialized on the Sallie Bush Community Building—Bronc Day is one of the area’s oldest traditions. The event prides itself on its authentic Colorado charm—with horses, cowboy hats, and western music and dancing.
