WPSD Successfully Submits Financial Audit Following CFO Transition

The following is a press release submitted by the Woodland Park RE-2 School District

Woodland Park School District (WPSD) successfully submitted its financial audit following a system issue that temporarily delayed the online finalization process.

The auditor financial opinions were completed on time, dated March 1; however, technical
difficulties over the weekend delayed the final submission. With the assistance of the Colorado Department of Education, the finalized report was successfully submitted to the office of the state auditor on Monday, March 3, 2025.

WPSD acknowledges that recent transitions in the chief financial officer (CFO) role have
presented challenges for the business department. Following the departure of its former CFO, the district has contracted the CFO role with Cortney Crouch. “Cortney has been instrumental in ensuring the audit’s timely completion and successful submission, demonstrating a strong commitment to financial transparency and compliance throughout the process,” Superintendent Ken Witt said. “We understand that this process has caused concern, and we appreciate the patience of our community. Despite recent transitions in financial leadership, our team remains dedicated to meeting all regulatory requirements and maintaining financial transparency and accountability.”
