NFL Game Watching Tips for Week 15

Brought to you by McGinty’s Wood Oven Pub

It’s onto Week 15 in the world of professional football Madness and when the real season starts: The duel for the NFL Playoffs.

The Denver Broncos are definitely in the race, for a change, and Bronco Playoff Fever is alive and well. The Broncs (8-5) are still on a high from their impressive 41-32 victory over the Mistake by the Lake, the Cleveland Browns.  That score was quite deceiving, as if it wasn’t for a final interception-turned into a TD in the closing minutes for the Broncs, they easily could have lost.  In other words, the Broncos won without really their best stuff on defense.

Now, the Broncos are fully rested (following a Bye-week), and the defense will hopefully get back to their former intimidating style, as they square off against the Indianapolis Colts at Mile High.  Game time for the Dec. 15 showdown is 2:25 p.m. The game has strong playoff implications as the Colts are hoping to dethrone the Broncs from their lead wild card role in AFC post-season play.  This is a big one for the Broncs, as immediately following this contest, they travel to LA for Thursday night football against the Chargers.  Their playoff scenario could be determined by the next two games, so hold onto your bar seat and your mug, as you may need it be filled at all times to calm your nerves.

And besides the Broncos, there are great games in store on Sunday. Two of the best teams this year, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Philadelphia Eagles, clash on Sunday in the infamous City of Brotherly Love.  Don’t look for any peace truce between Steeler and Eagle fans, who were born to despise each other.  Maybe the loving fans of Philly will get crazy again (when are they not crazy, just ask their lead cheerleader in Teller County, King Philly Joe) and pelt Santa Claus with snowballs again. Nothing like the Philly spirit.
Another goodie Sunday afternoon is the Bills versus the Lions, another showdown between two of the NFL’s top performing teams. Earlier in the day, it’s the Chiefs and Browns. Cleveland is way better than their posed record and could easily play the role as spoiler in the final sprint for the playoffs and beat the Chiefs.

If you are looking for a great place to take in great NFL action this week, including the Bronco/Colt duel, don’t forget McGinty’s Wood Oven Pub in Divide, the sponsor of our fine NFL Page and Broncos’ preview. McGinty’s, with their sports bar setup and winner of many Best Of awards in the High Country, offers a prime opportunity to view nearly all of the NFL games and partake in some great game food and drink special.

Overall, it is a great game atmosphere. Additionally, McGinty’s sports a friendly staff and has food entrees just made for NFL football. It also is a prime spot for Thursday night games, which aren’t easily available to most fans, and of course, college ball. In fact, this is a prime spot for the College Bowl games.

Enjoy Week 15.
