NFL Watching Tips for Week 13

Brought to you by McGinty’s Wood Oven Pub

It’s onto Week 13 in the world of NFL Madness and what locals were hoping would finally become the year of a Denver Broncos’ rebound and the end of a playoff drought existing since 2015. So far, that rebound has encountered a wild journey, with plenty of ups and downs.

But as a whole, the Broncos have fared better than what most critics and insiders predicted at the start of the season, with some saying they wouldn’t surpass five W’s for the year.

The team has encountered some ugly times, such as an outing several weeks ago against the Baltimore Ravens. At the same time, the Broncos have looked mighty impressive on a number of occasions, such as when they walloped the Falcons, Panthers, Saints and Buccaneers. During those crushing victories, they have outscored their opponents 125-37. Yes, the weekly Broncos football carnival hasn’t been lacking in entertainment.

Now, the Broncs are making an appearance on Monday Night Football at Denver’s Empower Field.  They are slated for national prime time on Dec. 2 at 6:15 p.m. against the Barking Dogs’ Menace, the Cleveland Browns, the mistake by the Lake. Sorry, it’s hard to say anything positive about Cleveland.

Still, remember the good old days when their belligerent fans would spend all night howling like mad dogs, outside the hotel where the Broncos used to stay in Cleveland in the playoffs in an effort to upset former QB John Elway. Elway’s act of revenge: The Drive, a nearly 100-yard sprint to playoff gold in the late 1980s, a drive that gained legendary status.

But this is not the time to rehash history. This is a critical game if the Broncos want to see playoff action this season, as their schedule toughens up in the final weeks.

If you are looking for a great place to take in the game, don’t forget McGinty’s Wood Oven Pub in Divide, the sponsor of our fine NFL Page and Broncos’ preview. McGinty’s, with their sports bar setup and winner of many Best Of awards in the High Country, offers a prime opportunity to view nearly all of the NFL games and partake in some great game food and drink specials.  McGinty’s also sports a loyal group of Bronco fans and some enthusiastic cynics too.

Overall, it is a great game atmosphere. Additionally, McGinty’s sports a friendly staff and has food entrees just made for Bronco football. It also is a prime spot for Thursday night games, which aren’t easily available to most fans, and of course, college ball.

If Sunday football is more of your thing, you are in luck, as the Eagles versus the Ravens on Sunday afternoon is bound to become a nail-biter, or maybe the 49ers and Bills showdown. Regardless, there are great games in store this weekend.

Enjoy Week 13
