Try Prime Rib at The Creek

Prime rib has been known as a delicacy for centuries with the meal’s first origins being served in the British royal courts as a centerpiece of grand feasts.

Then during the Industrial Revolution as meat butchering standards improved, families began to enjoy the high-quality cut of beef inside the comfort of their own homes.

In the U.S., prime rib surged to popularity after World War II ended and the economy improved. Since people no longer had to ration, the delicious roast of beef became a favorite dish.

In well-known ranching areas like the entire state of Colorado and its neighboring states, prime rib remains popular to those who love to eat beef. Locally, the dish has become harder to find with recent skyrocketing food costs, until The Creek Restaurant recently changed its menu.

The Cripple Creek eatery, which has gained many compliments for their home-style cooking, recently changed their menu and decided to add prime rib to their culinary options every Friday and Saturday evening after 4 p.m. Therefore, those that are looking for a juicy and tender beef fix, The Creek is the place to go on weekend nights.

The eatery offers different cuts including a 14 oz. tender portion of prime rib with their house blend seasoning. The prime rib meal comes with garlic herb Texas toast and two sides like mashed potatoes with gravy and their seasonal veggies.

In fact, for meat lovers, The Creek’s menu has just about something for everyone in their “Campfire Steaks and Such” part of their menu. For those who like the rib eye beef cut but don’t want to just go to The Creek on the weekends, the restaurant offers Angus Rib Eye Steaks in 8 oz., 12 oz. or 16 oz. sizes.

Those who are looking for something a bit out of the ordinary can try either The Creek’s Elk Sirloin Medallions or their Bison Top Sirloin Steak to get their fix of game meat. For people who love chicken, The Creek’s entrée menu has several options such as a half-baked chicken or a crispy fried chicken breast smothered with white pepper gravy.

Anyone who is in Cripple Creek on the weekends will also enjoy their breakfast menu. Every Saturday and Sunday morning, The Creek offers homemade breakfast dishes like steak and eggs, French toast, omelets, breakfast burritos and chicken and waffles.

The eatery’s menu also has a large kid’s menu and quite the selection of desserts.
