Dear Editor:
At Black Hills Energy, we recognize that rising energy demands can lead to higher commodity prices and we understand the impact that changes in energy costs can have on our customers. As the cold weather moves through, it’s important to be mindful of wholesale natural gas costs.
Black Hills Energy passes the cost of natural gas directly to our customers, with no added markup, and we believe conservation is key to keeping energy affordable and available for everyone.
So how can you help? If possible, reduce your thermostat setting by a few degrees and wait to run your larger appliances until after the cold passes.
Reminder: Using more energy can impact your bill. Even if you haven’t touched your thermostat, the workload on your heater increases as the temperatures drop.
