Woodland Park School Board Renews Superintendent Ken Witt’s Contract

The Woodland Park School District (WPSD) today announced the renewal of Superintendent Witt’s contract, celebrating continued stability and excellence in education. The decision, reached by the school board after careful consideration at the January 10 Regular Board meeting and its Special Board meeting held on Wednesday, January 17, reflects the board’s commitment to maintaining strong leadership that prioritizes our students’ academic success and safety.

“As Board President, I have witnessed Superintendent Witt’s commitment to academic excellence, fiscal responsibility, and the values integral to our vision. I am confident his leadership will continue to align with the Board’s principles. Mr. Witt has demonstrated a clear understanding of our vision for the district, and he consistently leads with the conviction and dedication necessary to fulfill our aspirations for the district and the families we serve,” said Board President Mick Bates.

Since taking on the responsibilities in January 2023, Superintendent Witt has proven to be an impactful leader. By guiding WPSD with a clear vision, he has achieved significant milestones, such as providing comprehensive bussing services to all schools through the Total Opportunity initiative. Additionally, he has played a key role in implementing the American Birthright Standard, underscoring the district’s commitment to upholding a curriculum rooted in the principles that have shaped our nation, cultivating a sense of shared identity and appreciation for the values that have made America exceptional. His dedication to academic rigor, fiscal responsibility, and parental rights has firmly established a standard of excellence within our district.
