Election, 2023. Several key municipal and school board elections, along with key local and state ballot questions, are slated for Nov. 7, with the county’s clerk and recorder’s office coordinating the election. Several designated drop-off outlets are available throughout the county, including ones in Woodland Park, Divide and Cripple Creek. Plus, in-person voting is available at the Woodland Park Public Library at certain times. Check the clerk and recorder’s website for specific details. In any case, the deadline for returning ballots at a designating drop-off box is 7 p.m. on Nov. 7. Wellness Walk. Scheduled for Nov. 8 at the Garden of the Gods Visitor Center at 9 a.m. Meet at the upper level and choose a one, two or three-mile hike. Maps are available. Veterans Day. Make sure you take time to recognize all veterans who have served. The Woodland Park School District will host a veterans day event on Nov. 11 at 9:30 a.m. in the high school gym. Chamber After Hours. Chamber Business After Hours is Teller County’s largest networking event. All Greater Woodland Park Chamber of Commerce members are encouraged to attend. The Thin Air Theater will be featuring another great Christmas show at the Butte Theater, with community actors, showcasing a variety of future stars and local celebrities. Winter Day in the Park. The Holiday Season is fast approaching! Winter Day in the Park is back again for another year of FREE joy-filled fun! It is scheduled for Dec. 1 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. at Memorial Park. The event features hot chocolate, candy cane lane, pictures with Santa, and MORE! Tweeds Holiday Home Tour. Plan to attend the 25th Annual Tweeds Holiday Home Tour during the first weekend in December. Our theme for this event is Ute Pass Holiday Express…A Historical Tour of Greater Ute Pass. Tour beneficiaries are Performing Arts Parents Association (PAPA) of Woodland Park High School, Rampart Library District Foundation, Teller Senior Coalition and Ute Pass Symphony Guild. Six venues will be featured including a historic home in Green Mountain Falls and two beautifully decorated homes in Woodland Park. Elk Valley Estates and Rainbow Valley Ranch will complete our historic tour. As part of the 25th Anniversary Celebration, The Lodge at Rainbow Valley Ranch will be serving a complimentary meal and drink to each ticket holder. Welcome to the 2023 Lighter Side of Christmas. This year we are celebrating the 35th Anniversary of the Lighter Side of Christmas Parade. Our theme this year, “Woodland Park’s Nightmare Before Christmas,” which tells the story of Jack Skellington, the King of “Halloween Town,” who stumbles upon “Christmas Town” and schemes to take over the holiday. The parade is scheduled for Dec. 2 at 6 p.m. in downtown Woodland Park, along Hwy. 24. The event has become the most grandiose and festive parade in Teller County.
