Broncos Predictions for Week 5

Trevor Phipps

Most Bronco fans I know started feeling a sense of doom for their beloved team after they gave up a win to Washington in Week Two.  Let’s face it, they have not even come close to many expectations and they just look poor.

After their record-breaking loss in week three against the Dolphins (even though many of us saw it coming), some were even talking about ousting coaches, players, or pretty much anyone in an effort to hold someone accountable. But Coach Sean Payton made it very clear that nobody was on the chopping block yet and that he was going to do everything he could to try to steer the ship in the right direction.

After all, the season isn’t even halfway over yet right? Sadly I’m afraid that fans won’t see any big comeback from the team this season.

But this week may be Denver’s chance to re-ignite some hope back into their fan base. After the Jets lost Aaron Rodgers, their performance on the field has not been impressive. This week may prove which team in fact has the worst Wilson with the Russell versus Zach bout.

Prediction: Broncos 31, Jets 27

AFC West Predictions

Even though the Chiefs looked a little sketchy with their first loss against Detroit in week one, they seemed to have turned things around. Ever since their first game, the team looks like they have it back together.

And luckily for them, Minnesota has struggled just as bad as the Broncos being one of three teams in the NFL with a 0-3 start to the season. The Vikings may be able to turn things around this year with a decently talented team, but don’t expect it this week.

Vikings QB Kirk Cousins seems to have what it takes to win, but he just hasn’t produced quite yet. And on the other side, Patrick Mahomes has got back into his rhythm and he will be hard for the Minnesota defense to slow down.

Prediction: Chiefs 35, Vikings 24

Before the season started, I thought that good ol’ Jimmy G would be the key to the Raiders’ success this year. But despite beating the Broncos by a single point in week one, they have just not proven themselves yet.

They have lost more than once this season now to teams that look mediocre at best. I think that Jimmy G and the Las Vegas team will get better down the road, but I don’t see it happening this week.

The Green Bay Packers were another franchise that got off to a disappointing start in week one, but they seemed to have turned things around a little bit at least. I think QB Jordan Love will be able to scoot pass the Raiders D while Jimmy G struggles at home against the Pack.

Prediction: Packers 33, Raiders 17
