Corporal Kara Wright’s dedication to this agency has been exemplary. She routinely takes a leadership role in her daily assigned duties with her team. Promoted to the rank of Corporal, she’s become an excellent leader for her team, detentions and the Teller County Sheriff’s Office as a whole. She is always available to fill in when needed for not only the jail but various tasks outside her regular jail duties. Corporal Wright is a certified instructor in both Taser and Phazzer devices as well as a driving instructor. She’s taken on the responsibility of FTO Coordinator for the Detention Division, and as a recent POST Certified Law Enforcement Academy graduate, received the best driving skills award by the Pueblo Police Department. Corporal Wright volunteers her time to oversee the operations of Honor Guard and she is an active member of the Recruitment Team, mentoring new applicants to succeed within the agency. Corporal Wright consistently demonstrates one of the finest examples of service and leadership within the Teller County Sheriff’s Office.
