Destination Imagination Team Takes 3rd Place in State Competition, Qualifies for Global Finals

The Destination Imagination (DI) team from Summit Elementary placed 3rd in the state competition held on April 1. This achievement qualified the team to participate in the Global Finals Competition held in Kansas, MO, at the end of May.

The Destination Imagination team, consisting of Ben Rexford (5th grade), Bradley Seal – (5th grade), Cara Roynon (4th grade), Eli Yakel (4th grade), and Nick Adams (4th grade), competed against numerous other teams from across the state in a variety of challenges that required them to use their creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Their dedication, hard work, and teamwork paid off, and they earned their spot in the Global Finals Competition.

“I like DI because I get to compete against different teams, and it’s just fun to do! I’m excited to go to Globals and compete against other teams from all around the world,” said Cara Roynon, a member of the DI team.

The Global Finals Competition brings together the best Destination Imagination teams from around the world. The competition provides an opportunity for students to showcase their talents, connect with like-minded individuals, and learn new skills. We are excited to see our team compete at the international level and represent Woodland Park School District well.

Woodland Park School District is incredibly proud of the team’s accomplishment and wishes them all the best as they prepare for the Global Finals Competition. We would like to thank the team’s coach, Donna Frick, parents, and supporters who have worked tirelessly to help them succeed.
