Joe “Philly Joe” Corrigan, one of our more colorful characters in the Teller High Country, is TMJ’s Guest Predictor of key NFL Action. Yes, with the up and down state of the Denver Broncos, more viewers are checking out other teams to enhance their football experience (Just in case we don’t make the playoffs.) Here are “Philly Joe’s” preliminary predictions for some Week 13 games of the season and a few observations. These were actually made prior to the recent results, but Philly Joe (yes, a strong fan of the Philadelphia Eagles) has that Nostradamus touch of looking into the future and being right on most occasions. If you want to argue with Joe, then you can probably run into him at McGinty’s Pub in Divide.
Well, I hope everyone had a grand Thanksgiving and have adjusted there scales appropriately. After a terrible week on my picks and I admit it, and many of Yours too, let’s give this another try for Week 13.
This week may be a little easier with bigger point spreads. But anybody can beat anybody on any given Sunday. Who said that?
Sorry Detroit. you lost again on Thanksgiving, but look at the bright side. You can trade your upcoming first-round pick for five or six picks, or maybe a whole new team. And how bought dem’ (Dallas) cowboys yuck, yuck (who lost another close one, this time to the Las Vegas Raiders.) That’s the sound eagles make when they laugh. I’m going back to my pretty sure picks, so here we go.
Dallas Cowboys 7-4 at New Orleans Saints 5-6
Dallas needs to get a little concerned. Their “for sure to clinch the NFC East ” status is suddenly in question. New Orleans also goes by N.O. Do I think they’ll mark the playoffs? NO. Going for the Boys again.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers 7 -3 at Atlanta 4-6. Should be a no Brainer.
Arizona Cardinals 9-2 at Chicago Bears 4-7
Are the Arizona cardinals 9-2 the Best team in the NFC ?
I think so. Chicago 4-7 better have enjoyed their recent Thanksgiving victory, cause they ain’t beating Arizona.
Philadelphia Eagles 5-6 at New York Jets 2-8. Never thought the birds had a chance at the playoffs but now I do. I’ll take the win as my 72 birthday present. (Happy Birthday, Joe, even though you are a Philadelphia Eagles’ fan. Isn’t that the city that threw snowballs at Santa?)
Upset Pick.
New England Patriots 7-4 at Buffalo Bills 7 -4. Some already have the Pats winning out, taking the division and proclaiming them to be Super Bowl bound. Not me. Buffalo has there back against the wall and need this one. Go bills.
I’ll be at McGinty’s every Sunday for at least the first round of games. Come and talk football have a great lunch and buy me a beer.
